Well I bought some food this weekend,, it's a new item at Kroger.. it's the Disney Aristocats Wet Food. It was reasonably priced.. A little cheaper then Fancy Feast Wet Food, which is what I give my girls all the time..

Has anyone bought this type of food?? I hope it's a suitable wet food on a single mother's income like mine..

I do too... I hope it'll be okay,, seems like the same quality and ingredients...

I also started them on Iam's Digestive Care, the pink bag.. I had a $3.00 coupon and heard that Iam is a good dry food.

Read the ingredients. They're a lot more important than price. Cheap foods will end up costing you more in the long run because your cats need to eat more to get the same nutrition (which also results in more poop and more litter used).

I can't find the ingredients online, but I remember looking at that food at Kroger and it was... unimpressive.

Look for foods with as many actual meats (not 'by-product') and as few grains as possible.

But isn't it the best in the way of Grocery Store Brands??? That's kind of the options I have.. I had them on science diet at one point,a nd that go way to expensive for me.

Now if you could just convince my cats of that. I'm perfectly willing to buy them expensive wet food. They only want the FF, Friskies and Meow Mix wets.
I got really tired of throwing away food that cost $1.50 a can. They are bright-eyed and frisky. (on Raven's good days, he is)

I was told by a local cat specialist vet that FF isn't that bad. She'd rather see a cat eating all FF canned food, than all dry food of any kind. I think FF and Meow Mix are pretty decent wet foods, ingredient wise. Friskies is in my rotation for variety (my cats like a couple flavors).

I also have a terminally ill cat, who can go off his food at the drop of a hat. If FF is what he wants, FF is what he gets.

My cats are pigs.. Literally.. you lay down wet food, they'll eat it.. Like its' going out of style..

But I can't afford to pay $1.50 a can or more.. I literally can afford the .40 to .60 cents a can. it's much cheaper.. and if I'm really broke, and they need to eat,, then it's the cheap stuff for .20 cents a can. But that's rare.. I found that buying a box of food of FF or Aristocats, or meow mix was cheaper.

Nutro Max canned is about 65 cents at Petsmart. It doesn't have the chicken by products (heads, feet, intestines). It doesn't have unidentified "animal" or "meat" in the ingredients. It's far less expensive than Fancy Feast ounce per ounce.

Petsmart is really realy far away.. We only have a Walmart or Kroger's. and every now and again, we can get a few things of decent nature but extremely pricey from the feed store.
