Question of the Day - September 4th!

Given that September is typically "apple season" at least in my area, what is your favorite way to have apples?

Mine is apple fritters

We just had an apple festival in my city! They had sooooooooo many different ways of using apples. I LOVE, caramel apple CAKE!! Also, apple crisp, cinnamon apple cider, and fried apple fritters. And the best of all--apple butter!! Great on biscuits!!

Had to edit this b/c I forgot about my Mamow's delicious apple stack cake. YUMM-O!!

In a pie!

I like them plain jane. Slice them up and eat them!

Oh boy apple crumble all the way baby. Yum.

I love sliced apples with peanut butter on them. Or in a pie!

I'm one of those freaks who doesn't like fresh apples by themselves
BUT, a great local pizzeria makes a salad that makes great use of tiny apple pieces!!! BEST salad EVERRR! Oh, and a warm apple pie is always good!

Why is it my mind instantly thought of the movie American Pie, when I read that sentence?

I am not huge on apples but I love candied apples and apple fritters.

most deffinatley cinnamon apple crisp, with warm caramel sauce. . .

and dutch apple pie!

and apple cider!

Oooh oooh oooh, and also in slices in apple martinis!

Okay I am done!

I love em fresh, and applesauce is yummy too!

A big juicy Golden Delicious. And my paternal grandmother's apple cobbler. (But she hasn't made one in over 30 years - she died in 1989.)

Almost forgot! APPLE TURNOVERS!!!!

I just like them sliced and fresh! Sometimes i'll dip them in fresh caramel dip!

Honey Crisp apples are definitely my favorites!

Don't care for apples.
Too many years working in orchards and getting all the free apples I could carry.
Wouldn't bother me is I never saw another apple

However, when I did eat apples, my favorite was homemade apple butter.

uh... how can I possibly choose a favorite?!
Apples are the best fruit in the world! But I think my absolute favorite way is probably straight off the tree at the orchard where it was grown. Orchards have the best apples and I love the atmosphere... We're probably taking our first orchard trip of the year this weekend, out to Stillwater to pick apples. Yum!! Then I'll make apple pie, apple crisp, apple cake, and once it gets colder... my favorite drink, mulled cider!
