1) Radar's teeth sinking into my big toe every few minutes (one of the few occasions we've allowed him in the bedroom at night, his behaviour unfortunately meant that it is not going to be a regular thing any time soon)

2) Sonic dunking a furry toy into his waterbowl and then dropping aforementioned soaking wet toy on my face

3) Sonic falling off the headboard onto me, landing on my face with his backside

Emily used to bite my head and chew on my hair while I was sleeping.

Mia will flop her body down onto my face, and then as I wake up I inhale cat hair.

My parents' cat once jumped on my dad's chest while he was sleeping and batted his face between his paws.

In the afternoon I go and watch a dvd with Maisie so she has some company but I always end up nodding off.

I give her her tea when I go in so about the time I`m dozzing off she makes poop in the litter tray and the smell is enough to get me up and grab the poop bags!
If I don`t she sits on my head. Ewwww!

Loki likes to groom me in the mornings. He especially likes the crook of my right elbow. I have no idea why. Sometimes he'll lick my face; this morning he was licking my neck. My neck is sensitive, so it was even more unpleasant than usual. I feel bad because I have to hide from him under my covers because when he's grooming me he just purrs and purrs!

Loki did wake me up a few mornings ago at 7:30. He was on my chest of drawers and he pushed of this little jewelry box I have. Unfortunately, it was full of coins!

Possum is awful, though. He hits me! He'll hit my face and upper body. Sometimes I feel his claws! Also, sometimes he'll "dig" trying to see what's under me or what's under the blankets. No matter if I just clipped his nails the night before I will still feel those claws! He'll also try to "nose" his way under the blankets, but only sometimes does he actually want to go under them. Sometimes I sleep with my hair in a half-ponytail, and sometimes Possum will start batting it around and biting it! What a horrid alarm clock!

Alix's sister, Ophelia, began sleeping on my shoulder as a young kitten. I was working night shift as an RN at that point in my life, so sleeping days.

As she got older, she'd be watching my face to see when I was about to wake up, and begin patting my cheek with her paw. One day, she was about 7 months old at the time, she went to pat my face and accidentally extended one toenail..got me right in the nose. Horrible way to wake up.

Let's just say it shocked Ophelia as much as it did me, and now that she is 14, I can say, it's never happened again

She still does the face pat bit, and does it now to my husband at night when she gets her bedtime snuggles in with him. She no longer sleeps on my shoulder, but she does sleep right next to my pillow. Every night

For some reason, Yasmine like to bite/nip my chin while i sleep. She sits there with her mouth open for a minute then she nips my chin.........and her breath is RANK!
Not a very pleasant thing to smell first thing in the morning!

My RB kitty Waffles had the habit of leaping across the bed onto the table that held the computer monitor. One night I woke up to an awful pain in my head. He had leapt onto the table, knocking it over and it caused the computer monitor to hit the bed and bounce and hit me in the top of the head. That was an awful feeling.
Second was Tabitha.. she loves to walk across the "ceiling" here in the basement, and I woke up to being dripped on in the middle of the night... she was up in the rafters and had thrown up and it dripped on me.

For some background info, I'm a very sentimental person. I have a breyer model (an expensive horse "toy" in other words, lol) of Big Ben, Canada's greatest show jumper, the first Breyer model I ever bought. I have others too, but Big Ben factors in in the one morning that Buffy woke me up in a horrible way. One morning she was full of hi jinx, walking through shelves and across my sleeping body. At one point, she hopped up on the bookshelf across the room, where my Breyer models are kept, and that's when I "came to" (I think). I noticed her sniffing the horses, but I knew she was just interested and curious. But then she did the unthinkable. She raised a paw. She touched Big Ben. Big Ben wobbled. Big Ben bobbled. Big Ben tipped over and fell alllllll the way down to the ground. I was still half-dead, but when I saw that out of the corner of my eye, I shot straight up in bed, fully-awake, in a complete panic that Bennie was shattered to smithereens. But thank the heavens, miracles apon miracles, there was a foam thing on the floor where he landed, so he escaped that horror without a scratch. I'm sure Buffy got a thrill out of seeing a human person move so quickly, though, lol

That's far and away the most horrible way to be woken up (to me, anyway). The rest of the time, "horrible" is Molly slapping my face to wake me up and getting a nail hooked into my temple, so I feel the pluck as the nail comes free from my tender skin (gives me the heebie jeebies, that feeling). Or Molly slapping me and getting my eye. Or my nose. Or my tongue. Sometimes she paws, sometimes she scratches, sometimes she slaps like a mama that's had enough of waiting for her breakfast.

I think the worst way is to hear the sound of your cat heaving on your bed.
That's not his normal way of getting me up but he's done it once or twice.

Why is it that it seems like cats only hack up hairballs when you are asleep? Or do only mine do that? I dont think they ever hack them up while I'm awake...

I had just had neck surgery and had a drain attached to the side of my head to drain out the excess fluid from the incision. I had finally managed to fall asleep and got woken by Pepperpot....she jumped up on my incision and was batting the drain bulb...can you say ouch!

Roxie will bite me right in the middle part of my nostrils, which is painful!

One morning I woke to the shattering of glass. Boy I have never sat up so quick! Roxie had knocked my candle votive off the night-stand and it broke all over the floor! All I can say is thank god I didnt jump out of bed or I would have had to make a late night ER trip! That was the last of 3 votives bf had given me as my first gift ever. Roxie broke them all

Well, my poor husband bears the brunt of "the worst way to wake up by cat".

Years ago, we went to bed and he had a huge glass of water on the night stand next to him. He woke up to a cold splash and a LOT of water on him and the mattress.
We went out and slept on the futon for the rest of the night while the bed dried. Lesson learned: Don't have a glass of water right next to the bed. (That was Nabu's doing, too)

A few weeks ago, Stimpy jumped from the dresser to our bed (one of his games of "island") in the middle of the night. He landed all 4 feet and (back) claws out on a very sensitive area of the male anatomy. Poor Mike.
Stimpy weighs 17 lbs. Mike actually had bruises from that.

Then this weekend, Nabu ran across the bed and sat on Mike's pillow after walking through and uncovered and not solidified pee clump.
He also smeared clay litter stuff on Mike's nightstand. There were litter bits all over the pillows and sheets (I was already up). Mike was not amused that I laughed. Of course, I threw the sheets in the wash when he got up.

Usually Raven wakes me up by licking and meowing in my ear.

The worst for me was waking up to my Abbie (RB) throwing up. On me.

Well it makes me feel better knowing my cat isnt the only one to do that!
