So I went to cut one of my cats nails 2 days ago and when i touched her paw she cried like I was hurting her. I can not see one of her nails. She doesn't seem to be limping or anything but her paw stinks and she seems like she is going to bite when i try to look at it and that is weird for her because she never bites. It is really hard to see if her nail it gone bc she is really hairy but when I just tired to look I couldn't see anything. I was just wondering if this has happend to anyone and what I should do?

I agree....take your kitty to the vet as soon as you can to get it checked out.
I`m not a vet, so I can`t say for sure.....but I have had ingrown toenails in the past....(and I`m not even sure if a cat can get one)....but if so I know it is extreemly painful when touched and will need to be treated as they get infected quite easily.
I hope it is soon remedied.

I called a friend of mine that works at a vets office and i washed her paw in some warm water and salt. I am taking her to the vet asap. but i dont think its like an ingrown nail because after washing her paw off i could clearing see where the nail used to be. My friend also said there isnt much that they can do about it but we want to make sure it isnt infected.

YES, by all means, tomorrow, she needs to see her doctor because yes, cats' claws can become ingrown/impacted, and it sounds like this is what has happened to her, and she has an infection resulting from it, or she has a thorn or other foreign body in her paw which has caused the infection. In any case she needs a vet's attention a/o. For the time being, I would try soaking a cotton ball in a hydrogen peroxide/water solution and dripping it onto her paw. This will foam some of the germs out. Don't wipe it or you may make the situation worse; just drip the liquid on by squeezing the cotton ball above the paw. GOOD LUCK, and my prayers and best healing thoughts go out to her and to you. Keep us updated, okay?

I'd take her to the vet as soon as you can. If the foot smells it may have some kind of infection. Maybe the nail got pulled out or something. Please get her to the vet.

I think that the nail did get pulled out beacause I don't see it but I will be calling the vet tomorrow. Should I not let her and my other cat play incase she hurts it?
