If I didn't know better I would think Chynna had been talking to some of the more mischievous kitties here.

She is a very clingy and loving cat. I think even the most die hard lap cat fans would tire of her demands for attention and to be held.

Now that the weather is cooler at night she's taken to jumping into bed with me as soon as I go to bed. Only she doesn't just curl up and sleep, she wants her and me to mutually groom each other first. So I let her lick my nose and my hand while I scritch her chin and ears and give her a front paw massage. Eventually she settles down on the pillow next to mine and goes to sleep.

She must have woke me up 10 times last night walking across my head from the pillow to my end table and in her attempt to get at my face and give me nose kisses, and she kept pushing my CPAP mask (actually it's just nasal prongs, not really a mask) off my face. So if I wasn't waking up from her demands I was waking up choking

She's 15 years old and I love her to pieces and I know that my time with her is limited, so I can't be mad at her, but man, she sure was testing my limits last night.

If I may hijack for a moment -- there's a CPAP with just little prongs now? I know I have sleep apnea, but I've never gotten a CPAP because I knew I could not tolerate the mask... but if there's new technology, maybe I can get treated and eliminate some of my fatigue! Educate me, please?

even heyu been doing the hold me thing, it does get annoying, but i like you , i think they wont be here forever. so, i just make room

Thats usually how it is. I dont think I have had a full nights sleep in 5 years. All 5 of mine sleep with me, but they move around to different places ......... and they wake me up to licking my face many times a night

I, too would like to hear if there is new technology ...... Jim has sleep apnea and will not get a CPAP for the same reasons, Carol.

Yep, there are better ways than that bulky mask that covered 1/2 your face.

I have this one. It is called a "nasal pillow" and sits under the nose above your lips. There are too very soft "prongs" that fit into each nostril. It's really comfy and doesn't block my vision so I can still lay in bed and read before going to sleep:

Here are some images of it in use:

There are other types too, you can see them at this link:

And for those who have Sleep Apnea and won't use a CPAP, you are risking your life! Seriously. Sleep Apnea can lead to death in the middle of the night.

When you stop breathing your blood oxygen level decreases which means your body is being starved for oxygen. This means that your heart has to work harder to get what oxygen is in your blood to the cells of your body because if it doesn't, the cells of your body and your organs can suffer permanent damage due to cellular death.

Because your heart has to work harder it enlarges. Think about a body builder who lifts weights. Their muscles grow and bulk up in order to accommodate the heavier weights. This is the same with the heart muscle. However, an enlarged heart is not a desirable and will ultimately lead to heart failure and death when it becomes severe.
