Just found this poem on the internet, thought it was cute:

Stray Cat - By Francis Whitham

Oh, what unhappy twist of fate
Has brought you homeless to my gate?
The gate where once another stood
To beg for shelter, warmth, and food
For from that day I ceased to be
The master of my destiny

While he, with purr and velvet paw
Became within my house the law
He scratched the furniture and shed
And claimed the middle of my bed

He ruled in arrogance and pride
And broke my heart the day he died
So if you really think, oh Cat,
I'd willingly relive all that
Because you come forlorn and thin

Well...don't just stand there...

Come on in!

I love it! It's so familiar to me. Strays seem to know where to go, don't they?

Yep- I have that hanging on my wall in the living room. A dear friend illustrated it for me and included the pictures of my fur angels around a gate. I love that poem, it is my code I live with daily.

The author is Francis Whitham

I just e-mailed this page to some of my family. I know many of them will enjoy having it. I might steal an idea from Hissy and put it in a frame with pressed wildflowers and some of my feeble attempts at decorative painting. That's a good idea. It would also be nice printed out and put on the first page of an album with pictures of all the strays we rescued who have gone to the Bridge.
