I found my neighbor's Cat on my porch, i found blood on it... since it's white tiles.. i was looking around and i saw her sitting under my plastic chairs so i go to pick her up and she seems to be on the verge of giving birth to kittens she is bleeding a lot... i don't know if it's normal since it's been a while i remember it bleeding after the birth but before i don't is this normal..?

If it was just a smear or two on the porch, that may be normal. If she is, say, dripping blood, then no it's not normal. Poor girl....I hope she's OK!

Hi I'm not very well qualified to answer your question properly but for me i would really get your neighbour to call for a vets advice. I think clear bloody tinged fluid is normal but i dont think that lots of blood is? sorry im not much help.

After thinking about it, I wonder if she may already have given birth to one somewhere else before getting to your porch?

I don't think so, because she would have had her second already she's been here for say about 2-3 hours... shee's not dripping, and my neighbor is an ass, he doesn't want her because she is pregnant so i am gonna take care of her for awhile.. get the kittens homes and maybe get her spayed and keep her... poor girl...

It's like she knew where to go for help. They have a 6th sense that we just don't have. Thank you for taking care of her. Keep us posted.

Awww Steph, your so kind taking in the cat, I hate to think what might have happened to her if you'd not taken her in. Your neighbour needs stringing up!!

I took in a pregnant cat a few weeks ago because she was being mistreated. She had 3 healthy kittens last week and all are doing well.

How is the cat doing now? Has she had her babies yet?

Keep us posted hunny xx

I can't be of help on the actual question as I always make SURE all cats in my care are spayed/neutered right away; but I've read all the posts on this thread and I PRAY you will keep her and her babies, and get all of them the necessary care. Leaving a cat outside who's pregnant? Unbelievable!!! And "not wanting her because she's pregnant" just slays me. Does (s)he know how this HAPPENS? and what to do about it??? Obviously not. You're so right. I'd say "ass" is the kindest thing one could say about a person like that. Praying she and her babies have found safety!

Well i actually had to go to work so i wasn't home for a while i left it in my sister's care who has been my assistant through 4 different births... So i got home and my sister said that she had gone under my bed into a box.. (took out all the books... ) and so i found two... Thats all there was... and it seems to be it.. There are no more kittens.. is it possible for her to just have 2? all the cats that i have "mid-wifed" for all had 4-5 kittens.. all the kittens are healthy one is black and the other is whitish.. anyway... Umm yeah they are trying to get milk but i think her milk hasn't been produced yet.. or she isn't finished giving birth i'm not sure... But i gave my neighbor a piece of my mind.. and he was like "well it's not my fault, i didn't even know if it was a girl.." thus her name is Ruffles.. which i am going to re-name the poor think to Mia. More suitable.

anyway thank you for the posts.

Yes, it's possible for her to have only two kittens, or even only one kitten. I'm not sure about the milk but she should definitely start lactating as soon as they are born. They need to eat right away, or be on KMR. Mia is a pretty name. Keep us posted, and there are a lot of kitten and mother cat experts on the kitten care forum that can probably help out a lot...if needed!

Thank YOU for being there for them. Going offline now, but back tomorrow afternoon sometime. Take good care of them -- I know you will -- and sure am glad she's lactating, and that they are in your care!
