On the west side of... of... somewhere.
What about a small curtain? You can get those a little larger than the actual window and you KNOW it's covered. If you can't find one, ask if someone can make one for you. Some of us here are seamstresses (to one degree or another... I can do basic stuff).

Another option is finding some contact paper type stuff that is semi-opaque... window film. There are some out now that have patterns in the plastic. It comes off fairly easily too... I don't know about where you live, but some place like Ace Hardware or Home Despot (Depot, really... but they have taken over) might have it as well. That way, you still get light in, but the privacy is assured (unless the window opens, and then you're SoL... unless you have a curtain).

Where my cats are
Amanda has good suggestions!

I made a curtain for my bathrom recently. It's the kind where you have a rod at the top and the bottom. I figured that way I can even open the window for air but no one can see in say, if a stiff breeze picks up.

What about just putting up a bit of fabric? Take some fabric, fold over one edge and stitch it down with a sewing machine or by hand. Thread a string through the opening of the end you have sewn. Hammer in 2 nails on either side of the window and tie the string to each nail. Problem solved until you get a new blind.

Or, if you don't want to hammer nails & deal with hardware, try to find a small tension rod (or 2 if you are going for MoochNNoodles' idea
)
