Not me for change.
It's my parents!
They have agreed to foster a little gray/black tabby that's been wandering around in my brother and SIL's neighborhood begging for food. I haven't met the the kitten yet, but my SIL thinks it's a little girl, so my niece has named her Molly.

My parents, whose own cat and dog, have been gone for several years now, agreed to foster the kitten until we can get her fixed, vaccinated and tested, and find her a home. Obviously, we'd be thrilled if they fell in love with Molly and decided to keep her, but that's a longshot. Either way, Molly is in good hands for now and my parents are in for some kitten fun!

Just came from having lunch and my parent's house and meeting the kitten. She's a cutie!
She's not tiny, I'm guessing about 4-months-old and seems to be in good health. My SIL everyone had been feeding her, but no one claimed her.

I put some Frontline on her just in case and clipped her front claws, which she took pretty well, and she has a vet appt. first thing Tuesday morning. My mom seems pretty taken with her. Dad's not quite convinced. Honestly, I'd love for them to keep her but, if they were going to adopt, an adult cat would probably be a better match. We'll see!

Will get some pics over the weekend and post ASAP.

Well guys, they're having fun with her, but I doubt they'll end up keeping her. A crazy, active kitten really isn't the best match for my parents.
The good news is that it has them thinking about how much they missing having a pet. I could see them adopting a calm, older cat or dog in the future. My mom even mentioned fostering again, which would be great because there's such a need for foster homes.

Not you for once, huh?
I do hope that when your parents(or if) they are ready, they can find the purr-fect kitty. Although, fostering might be another good option!

That's great Eileen. In the meantime, I hope Molly finds the furever home she deserves!

Well guys, it didn't take long for little Molly to win over my parents. Whenever I call them, my dad fills me in on her antics and my mom makes over her like of the grandkids. I'd love for them to keep her and, at this point, they would, but my SIL found Molly a home with one of her co-workers. I'm thrilled she has a home to go to, but secretly wish this family would change their minds.

The main thing is that Molly opened my parents' hearts to having a pet again or at least fostering for a local rescue. They've thoroughly enjoyed having her around. It sure didn't take much for her to wrap them around her cute little paw.

Please send vibes that Molly's new family loves her as much as we do and, if it's meant to be, that another kitty comes along for my parents to love.

Thanks!

I am sad that your parents didn't keep her, but sounds like their hearts are open again for another kitty! Fostering would be great...hard, but rewarding. And I imainge you could find them plently to foster!

Well, I am sure they did an excellent job of fostering! I hope the new family loves her as much as your parents do and that your parents find a new kitty to love.

That's wonderful all around Eileen!
I know you'd really like for them to keep Molly, but you more than anyone know how precious foster homes are, and hopefully your parents will be open to the idea of fostering in the future!
