In a bread machine can you use either or when it comes to flour? If I can use regular flour do I use self rising or all purpose?

I ask because my normal store only sales regular flour no bread machine flour. I have one other store I can check but if they don't have any I will either have to use a kit or regular flour.

Thanks.

Don't use the self rising flour!!
Regular AP flour is ok. Bread flour has more protein in it.

For white flour I normally use the bread flour, but for wheat flour I use regular not self-rising and the recipes turn out OK.

Yeah this is what I found out when doing research on this issue. Bread flour uses all winter wheat which is higher in gluten. All purpose flour uses winter and spring wheat which is lower in gluten. You can use all purpose but they recommend adding 1 teaspoon of vital wheat gluten for every cup of all purpose flour.

Lucky when I went back on grocery day they had bread flour. But if I had needed to use all purpose we did have the vital wheat gluten.

Everyday since Friday I have made both homemade rolls and bread. Good thing I bought several bags of bread flour.
