Cassy likes music! In her previous life there was music! I was singing to her, she had the strangest look on her face.

I usually don't do the music thing, I try to get as much peace and quiet into my diet. I fished out a nice, soothing christian cd and played it for her. O, my, I could not believe the look on her face, I just cannot describe it. It was sort of a far-away kitten look in her eyes.

The cat we had when I was growing up loved music, but Bette Midler in particular. If I played Bette, or Phantom of the Opera, Kiki would come running out and start rolling around on the floor.

Hmm...hopefully that meant that she liked it, and not "dear lord, please turn this off!"

That is so sweet. They say music calms the savage beast, and I think that means man or any animal. Some animals really respond to music. If she loves it, keep playing it for her. Sounds like you have a kitty with an artist's soul.

That is great. All my cats love music. I always put on soothing classical music (or soft Christian) in the car when taking them to the vet. It really helps them calm down.
BTW ddcats, here is a better pic of my Oreo. Cassy and her do look a lot alike except that your Cassy has more whiskers especially the white ones above her eyes.

Actually, the quote is that "Music has charms to soothe the savage breast
To soften rocks, or bend a knotted oak.", so it's "breast" not "beast". Very common misconception though LOL

Anyway, that's really cute. I remember when I was a child and we had some kittens that got into some fish hooks and we had to take to the vet to have them removed. Unfortunately, in our neck of the woods at the time, there was no emergency vet so we had to make them comfortable overnight. I remember that I put a radio in their box with them to play some soft music and they settled right down. Loved that.

Worriedmommy, Oreo and Cassy DO have the same markings! Someone said a while ago that Tuxies without white on the face are somewhat rare. I just L O V E the white under their chins, I can only look at Cassy's chin, I cannot go near her chin because she'll attack me!

I did set up (borrowed from one of my DK's) a cd player for Cassy in her favorite spot. When I leave, I'll put it on for her. I put it on for her last night. Calico2222 said my kitty has an artist's soul, I guess she does!

She will be listening to: 'Handmaiden of the Lord" which is so soothing to her little or should I say big kitty soul.

That is interesting to know about Tuxies...never heard that. Sorry Cassy doesn't allow you near her face. Thankfully Oreo adores to have the sides of her face scratched and under the chin as well. We are blessed with our little Tuxies
