I'm having a few problems. Yesterday when I started my thread about Ryu, I had to manually type in the thing to enter a pic .

And now this morning I wanted to go into the vbPlaza menu and it doesn't do anything, the drop down menu doesn't appear and if I clich the tab it simply refreshes my page.

Anyone else having this problem? or is it just me?

I just got in vbplaza just fine.

I know for the past few weeks I've had to copy and paste the IMG code form photobucket directly into the window to post a pic, instead of using the Insert Image button.

Takezou, it's probably just you.

Just kidding!
But no seriously, every once in a while I will have problems getting into the vbPlaza...but recently everything has been ok. Hopefully, someone will come along and help you out.

I've been having to type in the tags to post images and links myself, for quite some time. It's kind of a pain. At first I thought it was just my computer but now..... ??? The other problem I'm having is some threads I subscribe to I'm not getting an email notification with updates to the thread. Even though I clicked on instant email notification. I went back and checked to make sure I had made that choice.

If it's only some threads that you aren't getting notifications for, it could be that these are threads you subscribed to before you made the instant notification choice? Whatever subscription mode is in place when you subscribe to a thread stays with it, regardless what changes you later make to the default. (You can change it for the thread in question, by unsubscribing and resubscribing.)

I can't help but wonder if it is another TCS problem

I use firefox, so tried IE, and while the vbPlaza seemed to work, the picture tag button doesn't still. This has only just occurred in the past 36 or so hours.

And just now, I keep being signed out and have to sign back in manually, even though the remember me box is still checked.

Yes my AV is UTD, yes I have done a scan 3x, the first time, I did it this morning, the second time was an auto scan and Then the third I did again, but everything is clean.

I just find it to be a giant pain in the butt, coz I hate IE with a passion but if I want to buy gifts or go to the bank I have to use IE.

I'm no fan of IE, either, and use it only when I don't have a choice. My browser of choice is Opera and it gives me no problems here at all. Perhaps you'd want to give that a try.

I have the impression there are lots of Firefox users here, too, and wonder if they are experiencing similar problems to yours.

vbPlaza works fine for me in both, but I only get the IMG problem in IE - so my choice is firefox unless I am at work and have to use IE

I have been logged out randomly lately too, but not all the time, and I have remember me checked

I have Opera but as embarrassing as this is to say, I will, I can't use it very well
I find it not very user friendly and there are also all these new bells and whistles that bug me. And now when I close it, then reopen it I'm still at the page. I've had that a while, if it were new, I'd think it keeping pages in memory might be effecting things.

I changed to firefox 2 years ago after getting a {not sure the computer tech word} tonne of spyware infection in 1 hit, that ultimately forced me to nuke my hard drive {thats reformat}
Thanks to a great dude in the US, who recommended firefox and a few other things to avoid IE 99% {1% is needed for windows updates} I have never had a single spyware issue since.

The point of that wee speech??? I love firefox, not good at using Opera {maybe I could get some tips?} but refuse IE. I used it just to check if it made any difference.

Hey, don't be embarrassed -- we all work differently -- that's why there are different products. If you could identify what is awkward for you about Opera, perhaps those of us who do use it could shed some light. I find it delightfully straightforward -- and I gather there are a lot of similarities to Firefox, though I haven't had occasion to check that out for myself. So I'm guessing that there's some relatively small thing, not obvious to a person who is unfamiliar with it, that happened to get set the wrong way and is getting in the way of pretty much everything else now.

We very recently switched to a new server, and also upgraded to the latest version of Vbulletin. I'll ask Danny to look into this thread and see if he can find any answers. Thank you for your patience.

No, unfortunately that's not it.
But thanks for trying. Initially I subscribe to receive instant emails. <sigh>

The thing that bugs me the most is that I have to type in the tags.
I'm lazy!

Sometimes clearing out browser caches will clean up and set everything right.

In Firefox, select Tools, Clear Personal Data.

I would like a different skin rather than the boring one that comes with it. There is no icon to show you the page loading etc.
I can't exactly explain the other things but..... I do find it hard.

Firefox got stuck a few times after my last post on this thread. I think its just firefox coz none of the tabs are working, like bold, italic, underline and basically all those buttons. I missed my point about it getting stuck, it was 0200 so I may have written this incorrectly, but when firefox is loading it shows you each stage its at, and this is where it got stuck. {read pagead2.google.syndication.com} I fail to see what hat would have to do with the buttons not working though.

I do that every time I finish using the internet. I'm real paranoid about something going wrong if I don't.

Hmm I just wanted to ETA, but the edit and quote button wouldn't work.

My ETA, was to say that all the buttons seem to be working on Opera. Except just now the edit and quote buttons.

I find Opera to run a little slow, but I can deal with that if everything else works ok.

Skins are available aplenty. Under Tools, click on Appearance. The first tab is Skins. Click on Find More Skins, and you will have tons to try on. They download quickly, display immediately, and give you the option of keeping it or not. If you don't like it on your screen, just let it go and keep looking.

You can also change colour schemes, and customize panels, toolbars and buttons there as well. If you set the progress bar to Pop-up at Bottom or Inside Address Bar, you'll see the page loading info.

Hope that's helpful.

I also notice there is no home page button and I have been through all the options looking for how to enable spell check but can't find it.
Using Opera that is.

Home Page - Opera comes as standard with that tab switched off, View > Toolbars > Main Bar will turn it back on (call also be done through Tools > Appearance > ToolBars )

Spell check also needs to be installed before use, info is here

(once installed you right click to ask it to check spelling)
