Wow I really need one of those! Maybe it would stop the wild tears through the house every night at 2 AM!
You could always donate it to my Bengal...Originally Posted by Pami

Kiko is the only one who get on ours (so far) and all he does is walk at a very slow pace.
My Mother keeps reminding me that if none of them ever get use to it, at least I will have a giant hamster wheel in my living room for decoration
I hear that. I can rationalize it, but I owe too many bills to pull out almost $1500 between the wheel and shipping to get that one. I did find one when I was searching, though, for round about $400. I did a search on cat wheels, and then followed the various links.. there was a link from a breeder who has one, and I think *that* wheel was about $400 before shipping, but it wasn't as nice as the one in this thread.Originally Posted by GingersMom
Sarah, first I'd need a new job - I owe over $2K to dentists at the moment, so charging $1,300 for a cat wheel is just not part of my financial picture, no matter how much I'd like it to be.
There's, in theory, a way to teach them to use it.. by using a teaser in front of them on the cat wheel.. or treadmill, as the case may be.. Much like dangling the proverbial carrot in front of the donkey's nose.Originally Posted by Pookie-poo
I sure wish I could get one to trial. Although, I'm not sure my cats would use it. Maggie's too clueless and Cleo's too fat.....Lola might be inclined to use it if she were chasing Maggie on it, but as I said Maggie is too dumb to figure something like that out, lol! Hey....maybe I could borrow someone's Bengal to sort of show them the ropes! Nah, Maggie's still too thick to figure it out!
Sampson has a very slow even walk that lets him go at his own pace but every once in a while he gets a wild hair and off he goes.Originally Posted by Pami

We used a feather to get the boys use to it at first. Now they need no encouragement.Originally Posted by CatsAreBetter

It's not noisy at all. You can hear the patter of their feet on the treadmill but the wheel itself is quiet.Originally Posted by Pookie-poo

Very cool action pics! Is it very noisy when they're using it? Gosh, I wish my girls would use something like that. It's an effort to get them going with a feather wand or the laser pointer....and those only cost $5! Hee Hee!
It's 1099 plus shipping. Just remember, as with anything, you get what you pay for.Originally Posted by Taurus77
Holy cow!! I have never in my life seen such a thing. And it costs $1500? Is that what I read? Looks like they love it, though.
