Hi guys

I've noticed recently that when Harry goes into attack mode he does this weird clicking thing with his jaw. He kind of bares his teeth and clicks!! It's so weird; I've never come across a cat doing that before! It seems to only be either at his reflection or if he can't reach an insect that is maybe buzzing round the ceiling.

Is my cat just strange or does anyone else's cat do this?!

Yes both of mine do it

Sometimes I can hear their teeth chattering and sometimes it's silent. I've read that it is excited anticipation of making the killing bite! This is borne out in my experience as one of my cats is far more predatory than the other, and he does it much more frequently - usually when he's hunting flies or watching birds out of the window

Yeah at first I didn't know what he was at until I realised he was staring at a fly! So at least I know my cat isn't weird.
