I have to watch scary movies for a class!

I am required to watch 2 scary movies for The Nature of Evil in Literature. I'm opting for The Ring & Silence of the Lambs.

Somehow, I have to read/comprehend books like Inferno by Dante, too.

I'm just really excited....I think this class could be hard, but man....I get to read books I actually like(I love the concept of Dante's Inferno, loved Dr. Jekyll & Mr Hyde) & watch scary movies!

Just Inferno, not the entire Divine Comedy?
Still, sounds like a fun class.

Just the Inferno. Although, if I get the time, I have been meaning to read so many of the "Classic" books.

Read it do.
I recommend Beowulf too if you can find a well translated copy.

I'd fail! I can not make myself watch scary movies! I tend to dream heavily about any movies I watch. So yeah, I'd fail!
I hope you enjoy it though!

I liked both of those movies - The Ring spooked me out more then SoL - when we came home I keep looking at the phone praying it would not ring that night!

I really liked The Ring. The Japanese version was pretty good too. If you ever want to watch some freaky Japanese horror flicks, pick up "Oldboy" or "A Tale of Two Sisters."

The Ring scared the pants off of me too!
Silence of the Lambs gets better every time you watch it

I've never read Dante's Inferno either, but I think that is a "must read" book

I'm so jealous of this class!! I wanna take The Nature of Evil in Lit

Silence of the Lambs is a great movie. Its not in the least "scary" nor would I consider it a horror movie, but it is a great one regarding the "nature of evil" in man.

The Ring freaked me out. I will never watch it again, or the second one. Nor will I watch the Grudge. Those little white painted kids scare me to death in the commercials, lol.

I recommend "Bride of Frankenstein," excellent movie, and it does make you think about the nature of evil. I wouldn't recommend "The Shining," just because the book conveys the message better. The twins freak me out, though!
