How do I get Popsie to stop begging me when I'm in the kitchen making food?
Most times it doesn't bother me but he can get extremely (sp?) annoying with it. He has as very big meow and it gets used a lot when he's begging.

If I'm trying to carry something hot that could potentially hurt them or myself were I to spill it, I stomp my feet and go "SPSSST".. that works for a couple minutes.
Otherwise I pretend not to know what they want and ignore their begging.

At that point they settle into watching, hoping that I'll accidentally drop something and not notice.

Not sure if there's an actual way to stop begging all together. Once they know that You+Kitchen=Food, you're stuck with it.

I have to agree with you. Barkley is the loudest of the two and when he sees me with anything that he thinks is remotely eatable he will start to holler at the top of his lungs and I also agree that at times it can be a bit annoying. But I will shoo them away with my hands most of the time when I want them to stop and they will then resort to just sitting there peacefully bobbing their heads up and down enjoying the smells

Once animals start begging, it's going to take some work to get them to stop. You have to ignore them completely, every time. And never give food in response to begging. It's the consistency that counts... if their begging ever works, they remember it as a successful strategy and will repeat it over and over.

Darn, sometimes when he begs I like to give him a little taste. Especailly roast beef. Oh, well either I'll have to tolerate him begging or stop giving him my food. That's going to be a tough choice cuz he can get cute when he begs.

When she wants more water she yaps my ears off till I do it (she doesn't drink from the cat water dish...she drinks from the dogs water dish for some reason) when she wants food she yaps my ears off...when she wants up on the computer desk she yaps till I move the keyboard in so she can get on my lap...she seems to be the boss in the house
