Here is the link for viewing and voting. A few of the videos are graphic but not all.

Which one did you vote for? I voted for the first one.

I hope people watch these and stop all the horrible cruel animal fighting.

I can't watch stuff like that. I was watching a report on Vick last night and without warning they showed a snippet of a dog fight. These poor dogs being egged on - one was clearly winning, on top of the other one which was on it's back, ripping at it's throat, and the dog underneath - the dog being killed, I should say - had it's legs flailing around in the air, struggling and pawing for freedom. Honestly, my stomach rose up into my throat and I got cold and sick all over. It was only a few seconds but I haven't been able to clear that image from my mind.

As much as I'd like to contribute, I cannot watch this kind of thing without having it invade my thoughts for days, weeks and months afterwards.

Aaaw man! That's horrible. I hope they don't plan on using these for advertising to stop abuse. I think it would put too many bad ideas in peoples heads! I couldn't vote...and I could only watch a few seconds...and I wish I hadn't!!

the second video is really sweet, not graphic at all. But some of the others do show the animals injured

I want nothing to do with HSUS at all...

But aside from I don't need to watch the videos, I've seen the results of what animal fighting does first hand. It's disgusting.

If you want to make a difference help cities and counties make intelligent laws to protect animals. (no breed or species bans) And keep your eyes open, if your neighbors look suspicious let someone know your concerns. More often then not, fighting animals is not the only illegal activity these people are involved in.

I am REALLY concerned about how that website called the videos `excellent submissions' and seemed to have a very cheerful, upbeat attitude towards them - including the first one that looked like it involved a young puppy. I didn't watch them, I still can't, but I am very disturbed at this. Talk about sensationalising something so dreadful.

I agree, NO bans!! But I do agree with laws that promote animal welfare and to educate people on responsible ownership.

Hey, look who's site it is, need I say more? I can't watch them, because I have horrible slow dial up. I can watch them on our super fast connection at work, but I won't. I don't need to see these videos to know that dog fighting is cruel and horrible. I just want to know, do these videos show dog fighting?

On the third video, the one I started to watch, you could "hear" fighting before you saw it. It was agonizing.....just hearing a couple of seconds of it!

I cannot imagine why anyone would want to watch videos of such things - even people interested in animal welfare. I know these things would stay with me for the rest of my life and torture my thoughts. Part of me wants to watch, but I know I'd regret it desperately.

Especially the first one That is a very young puppy, for goodness' sake.

I watched them and voted on the second one because of the positive images. My dogs on the other hand got extremely agitated when they heard the audio in the third video. I have 2 very calm dogs and they just raced through the house, running from window to window and barking the entire time. That video was real - my dogs just told me so.

If we are to find a silver lining in the whole Vick ordeal: perhaps it will bring these ghastly killings into the public's eyes and perhaps it will stop some of them. And there are 2 sides of every story - the negative that shows the graphic violence and the positive that shows what could be. It's a shame that both sides have to be shown.

Look at the greyhound racing industry. I don't know the current statistics, but for a long time, approximately 90% of the dogs born to the industry were killed because they didn't win races. The industry got notoriety when incidences such as the mass shooting of greyhounds in Arizona whose bodies were dumped in piles in the desert, or dogs that were used to chase down coyotes, many of them dieing in the process. There were a lot of graphic pictures posted at that time and it did spawn a number of greyhound rescue groups who built good relationships with the breeders to have the dogs pulled for adoption rather than killed. And some states have enacted laws to protect racing dogs.

So yes, the pictures are graphic, but sometimes that is what the public has to witness to understand the cruelty of the "sport". Watch them and be appalled, but watch them and learn. It is sick reality.

Same here. Even if I did want to watch I can't because I am on dial up.

That's not an effective way to make a statement. The second one is too silly and the other two are just horribly graphic. I didn't vote for any because IMO I think they were an understatement or an overstatement.

Understatement - the second video isn't enough to "convince" me. I thought that it was going to go into dogs that sniff for drugs, dogs that help the blind and disabled, instead of "come play with me".

Overstatement - where ever the other two wind up, if a parents sees their child watching that BIG disrespect and such for HSUS. They'll probably get many letters of complaint, despite the graphic warnings.

I sure don't want to have anything to do with HSUS.
From the sounds of it I wouldn't want to watch the videos anyway.

I finally watched them. The first one contained several images that I've already seen. No less horrifying for that, though. I thought the second one was lovely. I liked the sentiment behind it. The third one, well. One particular segment of video I have been unable to get out of my head (which I knew would happen) and the sound, well, anyone who's watched it will know. Horrible.

I'm going to have to pass on the videos, I can't bring myself to watch them. I get plenty of bad dreams/nightmares as it is. I don't need to add to it.

I find it interesting everyone is posting about a thread they do not plan to participate in. Maybe next time just don't vote?
