I want a dog soooo bad!!!!!! I've lived without one for three years now and everytime I see one I want to steal it and take it home with me!

The thing is our land lord has a "absolutely no pets" policy. I told her that we would not move into the house if our cats could not come with us. Long story short that worked out and we have our cats but were told no dogs. We move into the house and it's a piece of $***. The carpet is orange/brown shag (the whole second floor) the wood floor downstairs looks like it went through a flood, and we painted the whole entire house because the lady before did a hidious job (for example tan with purple border).

The week we moved in I had to vaccume the entire house, shampoo the carpets, clean out the cupboards, and even clean the toilets. There wasn't a single thing cleaned up in the house!

What I want to do is write the land lord a letter of all the things I had to do to the house just to move in, and that there isn't a single thing a dog could do to that house to make it any worse. This land lord has an entire block of houses she rents out and every other house has a dog but us.

Do you think this is a crazy request or do you think it could actually work??

It could work but just ask him face to face if you can have a dog that way you know for sure you can.
good luck!

Just ask, some of them put that no pets thing as a standard thing. But not necessarily stick by it.
Good luck.

It is worth asking, as Yosemite said, the worst they can say is no, I would put it in a nice way rather than saying the place is a mess and it can't be any worse. Put it in terms of "I have made these repairs to make it up to my standard and you can be assured I will leave it up to the standard I have improved it to"
