OK I just remembered this.

My boss is in Asia on business and won't be back until next Monday.

Is it Kosher now to hand him a resignation through email?

Thanks!!!

How much time do you have before your last day?

I would say if you can't wait for your boss to get back, then maybe e-mail them a copy with a note stating that you have a formal hard copy waiting for when they get back, but wanted to give them notice as soon as you could. Or something like that possibly.

Yeah sounds like a plan.

Yea I basically want to finish up and focus on moving ASAP.

Thanks for the tip on follow-up hard copy. we don't have official mail boxes here, everyone just places paper on someone's chair and walks away. My thing is that I would have to place it in an envelop and do that way. I do not want everyone reading my letter.

Sounds fine. Just make sure you date the hard copy and the email so you can show that you've put in your two weeks notice in case something happens and you need to show that for some reason.
I'd send the email to your home email also so that nothing can be used against you. Just covering all the bases.

Yes! Cover cover cover! If I learned anything at my last job it was to COVER! (Now if I could only teach my girls to cover their business!
) Make sure you print a copy or 2 even!

No advice, but I bet you're really getting excited, it'll be great to be officially resigned!

I would send a hard copy and email him to let him know so you can give as much notice as possible. What happens to incoming mail that he may get? Is there a mailroom you can have the letter delivered by? Or a HR department you can copy the letter to so they can start to advertise your job?

Oh dear no, we're only 45 people here. There's no such thing as a mail room. I'm just placing a hard copy on his desk.

I'm trying to narrow down who else I should give this to. Perhaps the COO? We have a controller, but no one that is really officially "HR".
