I know my physical therapy prescribed exercises are supposed to help my back problems, but.....holy mister! I'm in agony now! It feels like I've got a red hot poker sticking into my lower back. I think I'm going to go take some naprosyn and Vicodin and take a nap.

When I had some pains in my back a few times the best cure was to sleep more than I use to, and I think if you feel pains in your lower back you should rest a little bit but make sure you lie down correctly on the bed so you won't cause more troubles to your back.

Stay safe pookie

Oh no...poor thing. I am a Chiropractic Assistant, and I help people with those kind of exercises, and some different therapies. I know it can be hard, especially when the pain is so bad. Unfortunately, I'm not a doctor, and I cna't tell you what to do...but if it gets too overwhelming don't put out the idea of going to the Emergency Room or some other sort of immediate help.

Too often patients let pain get out of control, until they have to pretty much crawl in.

Also, during flu season, we have multiple patients come in, crippled in pain, with pain that is new, uncommonly severe or in a new place...they think it is just intense, when it actaully a symptom of a bad flu. It's just an example, not trying to scare you, just trying to reinforce NOT ignoring your pain, or delay a treatment.

I hope you are feeling better soon, back problems can take time to heal, but here are some for good health.

(sorry for the little rant there....)

Make sure to let your doctor or physical therapist know this. They may have to change the exercises a bit or change it so you have a more gentle warm up.

I think I'm going to follow your example and take a naproxen and painkiller.

Hope you get to feeling better after some rest, it really stinks to be sore all the time.

Have you ever tried Bio-Freeze? It is a pain rub, but much better than Ben-Gay or any of that drugstore junk. It also has all natural ingredients. No pepper extracts or petroleum products. It is non toxic to cats, and 2 of mine just love the smell. I have been having pain and leg cramps a lot lately, and it helps me more tht anything short of heavy drugs, and it works well with the painkillers.
You can get it at chiropractors, some beauty salons, and massage therapists. I hope you feel better, however you do it.

Pookie, I feel ya right now. Last few days I've been achy, that's what I get for getting rained out of my walk and trying to do crunches on a cement floor. Bad idea! Hope you feel better soon!!
