I just checked my User CP, and it is checked to receive emails of PM's, yet it's be about 3 or 4 weeks since I've received and email regarding any of my PM's. I used to get them all of the time, then they just stopped. I still get the PM's but no email notification that I've received a PM. Does anyone know why?

It might be interesting to find out if your IP is on the blacklist as well. Refer back to arie85's post on the previous page of this thread for the links to websites that you can do that with.

I tried that myself, but the IP address that it lists is not the IP address of my network, but the one it shows is listed as being blacklisted. I just wonder if that "blacklist site" is for network IPs or what?? Could it be the IP of this website??
I may just be me, but I don't think being blacklisted would have anything to do with us not receiving notifications. I just can't figure out why the IP address it showed was different that the one I'm using! I wonder...does everyone that goes to that site get a different number or are they the same?? Mine was 74.??.?? (I forgot...but I'll recheck.)

Actually, it is not your IP that is affected by the blacklist. The problem is if your ISP has a blacklist that has included TCS in it.

You may need to contact the ISP to find out how to determine if this is the problem and how to fix it.

I've been in contact with my ISP. It took me three hours on the telephone, but I finally got through to someone who knew what I was talking about. Their term for it is "quarantine" and I'm NOT quarantined by my ISP. So my IP must be on someone else's blacklist. My theory is that my emails from TCS are getting filtered out my some mail server along the delivery path.

I don't know why they don't just change my IP. I think that would solve the problem. But maybe they want to figure out what's going on before they do that. I talked to him on Tuesday and haven't heard back, yet.

They should be able to determine that as well. I sent him a notification email from my Trash mailbox, hoping he can figure out what's happening from the header information. But why would TCS be on a blacklist? That's why I asked if they shared a server. And they don't.

It just seems odd that so many of us, on obviously different ISP networks, are having tha same problem, at the same time. It's too complicated for me to figure out, and it's really no big deal anyway, as long as I can get on TCS to check for updates and PM's!

Well, at least with vBulletin it's easy to followed subscribed threads using the Control Panel.

I really don't think this "black list" is the issue. My IP address is not on the blacklist. A lot of people are having the same problems so it really has to be something with TCS. Are any of the admins looking into this? There are just too many people having this problem for it to be a coincidence.

Just to make sure I understand correctly: you checked your IP on the mxtools website and your IP isn't on any blacklist?

Tim, did you go by the IP that the ipheaven site gave you on the mxtools site? Or, have you run a command prompt of IPCONFIG to find you "real" IP address? I realize your post was to mzjazz2u, but thought I'd but in here. When I checked the 74.**.**. IP that the ipheaven site gave me, it was blacklisted, but when I checked my "real" IP it wasn't. Does that make any sense, or am I causing mass confusion?

Ok just in the last few minutes, I've started getting a few old email notifications from yesterday and earlier today. So something is happening.

Neither the IP that the website gave me nor the one in my network settings is shown as blacklisted!

I am contacting the technical support to see what we can find out about this problem. It seems to be spreading.

Thanks for your patience.

Taterbug, I used the IPheaven site. ipconfig just give the IP of my router. I have to disconnect the router to get my real IP using ipconfig.

Now....here I think we're getting somewhere. I checked The Cat Site's IP address against that blacklist, and it's on a blacklist. For anyone who wants to verify that, you can get TCS's IP on the mxtoolbox website. It's 209.51.143.107 and plug that into the blacklist check. I'm going to pm Admin to take a look at this.

This is a brand new IP that was assigned to us with the server move. I'll ask Scott to look into that. I know for a fact that we never had any complaint about TCS per se, but others sites may share that IP, or may have had it in the past.

Oh I'm sorry, my bringing to your attention by PM some time ago that my internet security software alerting me that TCS is a possible phishing site is not a complaint per se???
As well as the fact that its possibly on a Japanese blacklist site.

It's like when you move to a new city and get a telephone number that used to be the number of an escort service.

If indeed the TCS IP is the problem, then just getting it off the blacklists should be an easy fix.

I'm going to try to get ahold of Mike at Road Runner's data abuse department, and see if he's gotten anywhere with tracking my emails, and where they're getting filtered out. But....being Friday, I've got lots of stuff to do.

No, it's not a complaint per se, since I was referring to official complaints made to the hosting company or ISP centers. The kind of legal complaints that get sites blacklisted. I was not referring to a complaint made internally here by a member. I hope that clarifies things.

And just to put everyone else at ease, TCS is not and never has been involved in any phishing scheme. If it's on some Japanese blacklist, I guess that might trigger something with your security software there, but it's not really anything I have any control over. If you ever find out which site has blacklisted us and if they can communicate in English, I would be more than happy to sort this out. Insinuating that TCS is a phishing site is not just ludicrous, it's also libel.

We have Scott and his team on the case, checking to see if this IP that we've been recently allocated is on any blacklists. If it is, we'll whitelist it or change it

I don't want to cause an argument just to remind that, a "bad" hacker could/can write phishing code into this site without you knowing. I know that you would have no reason to phish.
Oh I understand your explanation about external complaints, thanks.

But since another member also has just mentioned that TCS is on another blacklist, I do think an investigation should be done and not by the members.
