Well, my house is in foreclosure but we might have a buyer for it. I hope it goes thru before the forclosure happens. But if it doesn't, it will be for the better, I guess.

My husband was denied disability because the people at the Social Security Office used the information his FORMER doctor from 10 years ago to decide this. 10 years ago he was able to work, but it has gotten much much worse. We are going to appeal the decision. We have 60 days to do this, so we will wait until we move.

We are hoping to start the move next weekend. We found a cute 1 bedroom apartment in our price range. We are just waiting on the credit check. That sucks because besides the foreclosure on my credit, my husband has a judgement on his credit. The company put a levy on our joint checking account, causing a couple of checks to bounce. I opened another account at a different bank in my name only so I could pay our other bills. I had to make an agreement to pay my husband's judgement at $400 per month. They refused to go any lower and if I didn't agree, the would have garnished my wages for more than the $400 I agreed to.

Finances are going to be very tight until the house sells. We may get about $5000 from the proceeds but that isn't for sure with all that I owe. If I do get that amount, I will pay a portion of it on the judgement to see if the payments can be lowered. I am hoping that the appeal goes through quickly and Mike starts getting his disability. That would be a big help.

And since the place we are hopefully going to rent is small, our electric bill should go down. Also, since we are not going to be able to keep our babies, that cost will be eliminated too.

Keep us in your prayers!

I will be praying for you all! I am sorry your going thru this! I understand
completely about all of your situation! But if you/we can just manage to
stay positive, along with heavy prayer, you will come through this and wonder
how did we even make it? So girl, buckel down, and look up everytime you
start to feel low.. eyes up, flat on my back is where I stayed for about
3,4 maybe even 5 yrs! Oh yeah! I sure did learn alot from all of that!
The major one that still is oh so fresh on my mind is, he is in control, not me,
boy, I had some struggles with that one.... just truly give it all to him and
all of a sudden you just glide on through!
I'm certainly not a "Bible Beater" so to speak. but I know what I know,
and I learned the hard way of course! It is almost so simple, that is what
makes it so hard! Your husband will get his disability. and your house is going
to sell with profit. I just feel it! Good Luck Doll!

I work for Social Security - do NOT wait the 60 days to appeal (and most people get denied the first/2nd time) - do it now or the time will go by and you will lose out on a technicality.

Also I'd get a lawyer or legal aide to appeal and represent you - will be better to win the case. They can get updated records a lot quicker.

You might wind up having to go for a hearing before the Administrative Law Judge if turned down a 2nd time. Do it!

I am not going to wait the full 60 days to appeal, just until we get our new address which we should have by Sept 1st. We just got the letter last weekend.

I know things are going to get better, but right now it is hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I can understand your situation as far as the foreclosure/selling the house goes. Unfortunately, our situation was more brought on ourselves, if you will. I had lost my job, then we were trying fertility treatments, and bills got behind. Fortunately we did sell our house before the foreclosure went through. Not sure how religious or superstitious you are, but one thing that I have heard of is purchasing a 'St. Joesph' statue, and burying it upside down in your yard.
From http://www.catholicsupply.com/christmas/stjoe.html:
"The statue is buried upside down in the front yard with the feet pointing to heaven. It may face towards the home (or towards the street if you want your neighbor's home to sell!) The location of the statue can vary: by the "For Sale" sign, in a flower pot (popular for condo owners), etc.. As long as you can find it once the home has sold. After the home has sold, the statue should be removed from the ground and given a place of honor in your new home."

Good Luck, and I'll keep you in my thoughts!!
