I fear my 16 yo may be on the way out.

I'm sorry to hear that Hannah isn't feeling well.

I do know how you feel about having an elderly cat and wondering how much longer she has with you.
My cat Samantha turned 19 in June but has been slowing down recently.
She has good days and bad days and I too have to clean my share of pee from the carpet or the floor near her litterbox.
I plan to take her in to see the vet this week just to see what else I can do to make her more comfortable.
I hope you and your Hannah still have more good times together.
How is she doing now? Have you gotten her to eat anything today?

Her kidneys showed normal? This is mystifying to me, as I am sure it is to you. I pray the vet tech can be more helpful and that your little girl's appetite picks up. There are supplements, by the way, to keep up the energy of cats who won't eat. Clinicare liquid is one, and Nutrical gel is another; please discuss this with your vet tech tomorrow. I have always resorted to extreme measures with my babies when they wouldn't eat, such as buying fresh fish and lightly cooking it, cooling it, and offering it to them; ditto with chicken, and offering chicken or turkey gravy, chicken or other broth (being careful not to offer any with onion in it as onion is bad for cats). Your little girl is in my prayers and healing thoughts.

Hi everyone,

Hannah ate about 2 bites at 3 pm and probably a tablespoon of food at 7:30. She seemed eager to get her food, yet wore out after a very short time of actually eating it. She's moving around well, and as usual, drinking lots of water.

I'm afraid to try to feed her anything but what's she's eaten for the last 12 years. She has such a sensitive system that if I give her any new food or even table food, she either vomits within minutes or gets IBS and mucusy diarrhea (which of course NEVER makes it to the litter box). The only thing she can tolerate in small amounts (and loves, btw) are fresh fruits and raw green beans. She's a very strange cat.

I was over at my neighbor's tonight. She breeds Birmans and American Wirehaired cats. I was offered a male kitten who has a kink tail so cannot be shown. He is a full brother to my young Wirehair female I got from her last Christmas. So, it seems that when we are ready, we will have a kitten ready to fill the void Hannah leaves. The circle of life goes round and round it seems.

Thanks again for the support. It's nice to have right now.

Hannah has rallied and seems so much better today. She ate normally, jumped up on me and purred and let me pet her this morning and has been walking around all over the place. The best part--NO incontinence! She's still drinking a lot and not climbing into her condo, but I'll take it. I think she most likely had a small stroke and is recovering. I also know that once these strokes start, they usually don't stop happening.

Thanks again for the support!

Just catching up on this and am so relieved that she is doing well and her bloods were good for her age.
