To enjoy a good stretch. For some reason my shaggy black boy has an entire ritual dedicated to stretching. Upon watching it for a little over a year I've decided to try it. Now I know why he looks so satisfied after it. It really works well.

Actually, you might want to check out yoga classes in your area. Yoga, especially Kripalu Yoga (Kripalu means compassion) is very much like the stretching that cats and dogs do.

Hummm... I may want to try that.

Watching him stretch like that makes me wish I had a tail so I could flick it in satisfaction.

If you're not ready to do yoga in public, like me, Rodney Yi or (Ye - I can never remember) has some GREAT yoga videos. I personally love the set labeled AM/PM yoga. It's quick and easy but relaxes me completely!

I love yoga! Everytime I see one of the cats stretch it reminds me that I could use a good stretch too!

I couldn't help but laugh at your remark - I've often told Bijou I love his tail and wished I had one.

You see Scratch's tail before you see him most of the time. It's big, bushy, and has a kink at the top. It's also his barometer. We can tell if he's happy or sad according to how it looks.

Wickett's tail give him away often too. He'll try to "sneak" up on us having dinner but we always see his tail peaking over the opposite side of the coffee table. Tails are so expressive!

Nigel does the best stretches ever. He always shakes out his back legs after every stretch and I think it's so adorable. He, too, looks positively satisfied afterwards.
