I feel you, small one whoâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s no longer here
I hear your little paws descend the stair
I sense your big eyes, once so bright and clear,
as they gaze toward me, watching my despair.

I turn and cannot see you standing near
with front paw raised, ready to tap my knee;
I close my eyes and I can see you clear –
head cocked, ears perked, just looking up at me.

No one was like you; no one eâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]er will be;
youâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]ve taken something from my very soul;
and though I know that you, my sweet, are free,
it will take forever to make me whole.

I wish I that I could hold you close again,
and kiss your furry head; goodbye, my friend.

Sometimes I sense that my Pixie is back, gently jumping on the bed to tuck herself in behind my knees. It's especially hard when they go unexpectedly, and there's no time to say goodbye. Your Baffy must have been very special to you.

That's beautiful. I'm sure we can all relate to that whether we've lost a furry loved-one or not.

Thanks very much for sharing that with us.
