I beg you to get your children and animals out of that situation. Please. You're all going to end up hurt or dead if you don't. Please get out. A man who would do what he did to your dog is NOT showing love. He KNEW that even if the dogs chasing the cats upset you, that you didn't want him dead. He KNEW that, but he didn't care. He was ONLY thinking of himself, which from your past posts it sounds like he does most of the time. You children deserve better than this, your animals deserve better than this, and YOU DESERVE BETTER THAN THIS!
Very well said!

I think that is a very clear view of the man he obviously is

To be so callous and just not care

I'd get out - You can do so much better in life than him

I would call Animal Control on him. See if THEY do anything---hey, didn't the NEIGHBORS hear a gunshot? I do'nt care if the shooter was my husband, brother, kid--whatever--REPORT HIM TO SOMEONE!! The ASPCA?? There has to be some organization. And how about your cats now? Is he going to shoot them if they tick him off??? I'd get the heck out of there.
Sorry, but I curse people like Michael Vick everyday for what he did to those poor dogs, and this is no different in my mind...

I agree with you 100%, Susan! However, England has tougher animal cruelty laws than we do here in "the colonies," which totally s*cks. I mean, England started their SPCA before they even had an agency for the protection of CHILDREN. Hmmm, maybe I should move...

But i've watched plenty of "Animal Cops"programs where they've been able to get a warrent to make an arrest on someone who was cruel to animals, so how come they can't?

It's a crime here in Los Angeles. A person does not have the right to just kill an animal. Anyone remember the guy who in a fit of road rage, pulled the lady's little dog out of her car and threw him on the Freeway, and killed him? That guy went to prison for it.

It's a good thing we're not allowed to swear here on TCS, because I would be spewing the obscenities right and left. To me, it's MURDER. I think the life of an animal is every bit as precious and valuable as any human beings.

You have other dogs as well, don't you. Please don't let him kill them. Please.

In some areas its not a matter of the can't its a matter of won't and don't care. Which is very very sad.

Me Too, There must be something they can do, surely no country would ignore animal cruelty in such a way.

You've got to keep trying.

Anyone on this forum from USA know who she should call to get something done?

That kind of thing is NEVER acceptable. NEVER. "I'm sorry" just does not cut it. There is no way i'd ever trust someone that cruel around my children or animals. If i were in your shoes- i'd get out...now. And i would do it when he wasn't around to pose a potential danger. If he shoots a beloved dog that easily....well. i wouldn't want myself, my child, or my other animals around him.

I am soo sorry darling
And in no way is this your fault- You didn't do it-do not blame yourself for the actions someone else chose to take (and in doing so, hurt you) I am soo sorry you're going through this hon
Please don't blame yourself though- that won't help anything. Instead, you might want to consider what you need to do to get yourself, your prescious, prescious children, and your sweet furbabies out of that house and into a safe place away from him. I just would not trust someone who is that violent towards a defenseless animal.

I hope i'm not comming off too harsh- i'm just worrying over you and your little ones(and the other furbabies). It sounds like you're in a dangerous situation.

Do you think she really has a choice? I mean, come on, he can do this when she's not home... She would only know AFTER he did it.

He really should not be allowed to live with animals, or people for that matter!

The only way to make sure YOU and your animals are safe- is if you all leave.

But like I said earlier, this is really up to you. We (people on TCS) can not make your choices for you... this is something you really need to think long and hard about.

I don't like some of the policies of our RSPCA, but when it comes to cruelty their spot on with bringing people to justice, so after hearing this i'm really saddened by it

Oh they can! It just depends on the laws in that state/city. Where I work- you better believe someone like that would be summoned to court and given WAY more than just a slap on the wrist. In some areas that are more lax however- they would consider the dog his "property" and claim he has the right to do with it as he pleases...it just depends. I do not agree with that though, because that is abuse and murder in my eyes. My coworkers are the same way. He would be SEVERLY reprimanded/punished if it happened here and we had proof.

You answered your own question there.

I am sorry but he has been troubled for a long time from what you have posted. Staying is only condoning his actions.

What will it take for you to understand what a grave situation this is? You willing to wait for him to shoot a person instead?

I just can't....

Exactly!

But, it must be really hard for her. This is her HUSBAND! Not some random person...

It saddens me as well. When we first moved to GA they first county/town we lived in had no ac at all. Whenever you called about a dog or any animal their answer was shot it. And I know this for a fact because we had to call the police (non emergency) over my ex-neighbors dog. He was very sick, skinny, messed up leg and close to death. The police said if its a problem just shot it.

Where we live now we have a county wide AC. They are hit and miss with how good they are. I recently called them about a neighbors dog. We have a county wide leash law even way out here where we live. Well this dog is always off leash run the 'hood, getting into trash, chasing cars, and very skinny (GSD). Kicker was these people just bought a brand new double wide within the past year to replace their old trailer. When they had the old trailer we never knew they had a dog. until the new trailer. Anyways they did come out and investigate. And as a matter of fact I have not seen the dog since. I don't know if having the ac come out was enough to scare them straight or if the AC took the dog.

I want all of us to remember that she is reaching out to us for support at this time.
This in no way is her fault. Even if they have had problems in the past.
None of us are in her shoes right now nor do we know her reasons for staying.

Who knows? Maybe they were working things out and things were getting better and then this happened.

We are a family here at TCS and need to be there for one another no matter what life choices a member makes.

We can all say "Leave Him NOW!" but as some of us know, it's easier said then done. She has a lot of things running through her mind right now and I'm sure she's got a lot to think about.
