Hello, I’m hoping that some one can help me. I adopted a feral cat about six months ago (spayed female) (Pumpkin). She has made the under parts of my bed her hiding place and comes out only when I’m in the room alone with her. She’s very friendly to me but is frightened to death of other animals and other people. Up until about a week ago, my two other cats (both neutered males) paid little or no attention to Pumpkin. The issue is one of my male cats became ill and passed away ten days ago and now Teddy is showing really aggressive behavior toward Pumpkin. I’m thinking he is missing Wheeze and I'm wondering if this behavior means he wants Pumpkin’s company or does he just want her out of the house? Before leaving for work today, I had to close my bedroom door so that there won’t be any cat fights while I’m not at home. I certainly would be grateful if some out there can offer me some advice. I live in the No. Va area near DC.
Yes, it is probably in reaction to Wheeze passing away. There is a power void, and the male cat wants to fill it. He's letting pumpkin know in no uncertain terms HE is now NEW BOSS.

Try Feliway, more attention to the male cat while you are home,
and supervised visits with Pumpkin. Maybe a whole cat reintroduction...

Good luck and I am sure they will get along eventually...
