http://www.skellyo.com/hippie/pics3 006.jpg . My ? is i was thinking of adopting a cat from the spca booth at the local pet shop. What would be the best to get older or younger male or female ?. again my cat is a 7 or 8 year old tabby that is fixed. Thank's for any help.

In my own opinion I have had a better time aclimating kittens with older cats. They become so set in their ways, that older cats sometimes become a nuisance because they are set too. I have found older cats are a little more tolerant to a kitten. Perhaps it reminds them of younger days!

Hope it helps, and good luck with your new addition!

Hello & welcome to the forum. I'd go for the calico kitten & read up on introducing cats.

As for a choice of a new kitty.. Older cats are great I got both of mine from the SPCA. Mine are both Male, of coarse fixed because they won't release them from the SPCA unless they are.

I think it is a matter of personal preference, and as long as you introduce your cat and the newbie slowly there should be no problem..

Good luck.
