Long haired kitties and baths

Brushes don't do anything. You must use a comb and get out every knot/tangle in the coat of a longhair before you wet them down - if you don't it will be almost impossible to do after the bath.

And you'll have to comb and blow dry the longhair - can't just let them air dry - the wet fur can tangle as they are drying. Besides you don't want them to be licking themselves dry and swallowing all that hair!

Well, he's all dry now... while he was drying I brushed him and no mats, knots or tangles!

I comb and brush before, during and after drying. Brushes do have their place but pretty much as a fluffing tool. The coat is nice and silky soft now since it is so clean. So much of the lose, dead hair is gone. Using a comb frequently will help keep it that way.
