Did throwing rocks at your ex-boyfriend work, mybabyphx? If your arm is sore, try icing it for the first 24 hours, then use heat pads thereafter. You'll be throwing a wicked slider again in no time.

Yeah, it worked! I got rid of him.. hahaha!

Does him being in the hospital now, consider us broke up?

BTW: thanks for the ice tip

Before someone freaks out: This is a joke, he's NOT in a hospital.

For the record, I'm with the 'lay it on the line' crew and it sounds like you've made the right steps. From your description, it sounds to me like this will not be a break, but a break-up, by virtue of his responses.

4 years IS a long time and if there isn't something truly deep in the relationship, there never will be. Once the spark of personal discovery goes out of the relationship you need that something deeper to keep the relationship strong.

Don't sweat it, girl. You'll be over this in no time.

PS That's not retro, this is retro!

Maybe I'm just old and jaded, but I wouldn't do anything drastic until I got some expert answers on a few things. I know everyone here means well and some have already cautioned you, but make sure that you can get your name off the lease or you can be held liable for the rent to the extent that you can be taken to court. I don't care how nice your landlord is, when it comes to the rent cheque he may prove to be just another businessman even if he's always been a friendly one and he'll want his money. If your bf and his friend hardly work - you can be sure they aren't going to be paying the rent.

Don't feel at all bad for making this decision. Your boyfriend made a choice to not contribute. He has been using you. I'm sure these two guys will have no problem trying to shift the blame away from themselves and towards you, but they chose to not pay their share of the bills and thus they chose their fate. This is all on them. You went above and beyond what any other person would do and gave them chance after chance to change their ways. I'm sorry that you have to go through all of this. Best of luck to you!

Well, I've already been staying with my dad for the last couple of nights. I'm going to give it the weekend to kind of put my thoughts together and decide what I'm going to do. If on Monday, I think it's still best to move out- then I will call and sweet talk the landlord. As of right now, I have not moved all my stuff out- it's still there. I have not turned off any of the bills that are in my name. I'm just kind of giving it a few days and see what's going to happen.
I really appreciate everyone's help on here.

Without the people that replied on this thread and Nikki (trixie23) helping me through this... I would never have had enough courage to go through with this. Noone made me do anything, they just encouraged and supported me through my hard times. I really appreciate it!

Mybabyphx, people have given you excellent advice. I highly recommend that you do not stay any longer than you have to.. life is too short to be unhappy that way.

I know this must be a hard decision for you as it is always easier not to make any changes. Hang in there!

Well whatever you decide I hope it works out if I lived closer I would offer you and your kitty a place to sleep.

Thanks! *hugs* that really does help me feel better!

I'm staying at my dad's right now, PHX is still at the house- and I go over every other day to check on him. He's fine
Loves it when I come home to pet him.

I'm probably going to bring PHX here pretty soon. I can't stand not living with him!!!

Here's my update:

I'm still living with my dad, and have brought over some more of my stuff. Me and the bf are completely broke up now. I just still have some stuff there I need to get- actually quite a bit of stuff. He wants me to come back, and keeps text messaging me...

How long does it take to get over a breakup? This is a lot harder then I thought it would be... it actually really sucks!
I know it's whats best for me though...blah blah blah.

Anways, so here's the exciting part of the update: I just went and got PHX!!!!! He's staying with me at my dad's! For now he's just isolated in my bedroom with all of his stuff.
I cried the whole drive home from my old house to my dad's house... and PHX layed on my lap. I think he understands something going on. I wish I didn't have to keep moving him though. But at least he's with me now.

Well, there's my update. I'll keep you posted on any further news.

Thanks again to my TCS family, without you guys... I wouldn't of had the courage to do this myself! Thanks *hugs*

Good for you! I know it must have been hard for you to do that. You must be emotionally torn between your feelings, but doing what you know is right, no matter how much it hurts.
Cats are amazing creatures. They can pick up on emotions and give us simple comfort when needed.
