Forgive me but my life is a tad chaotic.
I'm Linda, new to the cat forum but generally fond of forums. I have already jumped in on a couple forums but neglected to introdce myself!
I have 3 kids, one each from India, Guatemala, and China, and to preserve the momentum of adoption, we adopted 3 new kitties this summer. So you might get the idea of WHY I seem a little scatter-brained.
My husband and I BOTH have always had cats. I met my first siamese in 1957, when, the day I came home from the hospital, two jumped into my crib. I have not been without siamese since, except for one cat-generation of Abyssinians, which were fine, lovely creatures.
I recently (July 4) had to have Roland, my 15 year old Tonk x (?) Siamese? put down and am (of course) still grieving for him. For 15 years he purred and slept in my arms, snuck up and NANG!ed at me, stole my milk (and cheese, and pasta, and mexican pastries and bagels), got in my face, went for rides in the car ... on the bicycle ... he was different, in a VERY siamese way.
His mate of 13, Walter, is still with us and also grieving. Walter was so lonely, he is home alone a lot ... so we went to a Petco event and got him a young but VERY laid-back chum, Lord Chesterfield, a Seal Snow Shoe estimated at 1 - 2 years. Okay, ahem, I fell madly in love with Lord C (pompous and a bit of a stuffed shirt), I admit it.
Not to be outdone, then, DH and DS (age 4.5 yrs) go to ANOTHER PetCo event ... and return with TWO MORE -- Ulysses, age around 1 yr, a part Aby and part Angora ... GOAT (just a GUESS), and Laxmi, age 4 mos, a Seal Tortie OSH. They claim there was no way around it, Uly reached out and patted DS on the cheek.
So ... that's US!
Linda
