I JUST posted a similar question under the "health and nutrition" forum. Check it out--I got a lot of helpful replies. As of now, Puma is doing better. Try giving your cat water through a baby bottle. It seemed to help Puma A LOT! Good Luck~
PS: it's titled "Drooling"

If it's a sudden (couple of days) development take him to an Emerg. vet as he could have had access to poison - that's a classic symptom.

There's no place like home
It could be a dental problem or some inflamation in his mouth. If you absolutely rule out poison (as Larke suggested), then a vet visit is in order in the near future.
