Hi all!

I've had Soleil now for approx half a year. She is a purebred streetcat

When we first got her she looked like a normal shorthaired cat. Pretty but nothing special... short hair with some longer ones...

Now that she has gotten older (about 7 months now) her fur has changed. It's gotten longer - especially around her tail. It's very fluffy. The rest is short to mid-length. Around her neck a bit longer too.

Any ideas what she has in her??? (Hope u can see the pics...!)

From the pics I saw online she looks a bit like a turkish angora??
Thanks for helping!

Sorry the pics aren't showing up!!

Looks like they're pics on Facebook which you need to be logged in to see. You may need to put them on Photobucket or something like that.

Can you believe it? Not a single upload site is working. No Photobucket and nothing else either. It all stalls...

Any other ideas? Except maybe having a facebook account and adding me?

Else I'll try again tomorrow...

Ok, the bucket is finally working.

This is Soleil with 4 weeks:

This is the little clown now (please ignore the mess in the back
)

Personality-wise: adventurous. Not afraid of anything. Very talkative - seriously TALKING!, no long meows. NOT afraid of water. She will lie down when I squirt her and start licking herself. Climbs on everything. Jumps up on the top posts of my posterbed almost in one go (she will cling onto the top bar and then pull herself up)!

Doesn't want to be held, but rubs face against everything, mainly my feet when I'm walking or better said trying not to trip

She purrs loud, but when she has enough, she will swat and bite (so not so sweet as it seems
) She'll also do that when you are walking past and not expecting it as you didn't bug her

Her built is fairly small and slim. Very lightweight and I have the feeling she is not as big as Singa was in her age (at least not as heavy
)
Her fur is soft as silk - her tail bushy and a bit more coarse.

Any ideas???

Thanks!

Interesting kitty
Very pretty too.

She would be considered a brown ticked tabby and white. With the larger ears (and wide set) I would suspect some aby or somali in the background. Ticked tabbys are not too common and most would get it from an aby type of cat.

My first cat Mitten I believe had aby in the background as he was more of a blue ticked with faint mackeral striping in the coat - not deep contrast like most tabbys.

The last picture really looks "aby/somali" looking to me and personality would fit

i read that ticked tabbies aren't too rare in Singapore. I also read that i comes from and aby background in this region.

But that would be the color, right?? I'm mainly interested in the breed - at least the tail!

PS. pssssst with the comments on the ears. She is very sensitive

Aren't Singapuras from Singapore? Those are ticked tabbys. That really is a beautiful cat! I would of never guessed she would of gotten a tail like that from that kitten picture. I say show her in HHP class if you have that there.

I forgot about the little Singaporas, but the ears and body look more aby/somali - somali's are longhair abys. I would still say that's the "breed" in the background.

Angora's have a much closer ear set then she has, so I don't see that in her. And the tail doesn't match an Angora either.

I doubt she would like to go to some show. She won't hold still whatsoever

Don't Abys have thin long tails? Somali could be it for the tail, but do they have this silkiy soft water repellent fur as well? When I squirt Soleil the drops will roll off her back.

I'll check with the former foster mom what her real mother looked like... she is still roaming the streets and the foster mom recently told me she still sees her once in a while...

She really is unique and very beautiful. I agree with Goldenkitty45. I'll bet she has some Somali in her. We have a member who has two Singapura's, and she doesn't look anything like the Singapuras, except for maybe the big eyes.

Definitely not Singapura. I have once read that the Singapura doesn't really origninate from Singapore but was actually bred in the US and simply called Singapura. But then again - I have no clue on the breeds

I am feeling more and more that Soleil may have the Somali in her. The personality profile I read up is SOOO her!
