I know that a lot of people here enjoy the Kentucky Derby and the Derby Festival that goes on during that week. Even people that have lived here all their lives and have seen it every year still consider it to be quite the party.
A big event during the Derby Festival is the steamboat race between the Belle of Louisville and the Delta Queen. But Derby week 2008 will probably be the last time these two authentic steam powered boats race the Ohio river.
After getting years worth of exemptions from laws banning the use of wood in passenger ships, the Delta Queen has finally ran out of time, and she will most likely enter retirement after a final cruise to New Orleans after Derby week, 2008
