For like a week now, every now and again, I get this god awful stabbing pain in my head!(on the right side) I am kinda freaking out about it....
I tend to do that! But I wonder what could cause it? Does anybody know? Or have ya ever experienced this??

Please tell me its not a tumor.....

Could be neck strain.
I occasionally get it because I try to watch TV from my computer so I have to crane me neck a bit to look to my left.

Does the pain last for a while or is it just short stabbing that last for a few moments?
If it's the short kind those are usually referred to as ice pick headaches. They're rather annoying but I've had them for years with no problems.

If the pain last it might simply be a type of tension headache. In any case whenever you get a new type of headache you've never had before or the pain lasts for days you should go to the doctor.

Could be a cluster headache. They almost feel migraine like but can last from 5 minutes to days.
They can be brought on by many things, including stress.

I've suffered from them since I was 11, and the only painkiller I have found that even touches them is Codine, which in the UK we can get in an over the counter medication called Syndol .. although I know you have to get this by prescription in the USA.

Maybe. I did some online searching last night for different types of headaches, and cluster headaches in one I came across.

Its not like 24/7....yesterday I didnt have it until late last night....but the week before when I noticed it, it was through out the days....
