Does anyone know....

if UPS delivers on Saturday? I ordered a new laptop () from Walmart and paid almost $30 for next day shipping and would like to have it tomorrow! I ordered it yesterday at 1030AM and it just finished processing today. I sent them a, ahem, *nice* email questioning why I paid $30 for shipping if it is not going to be in the next day and have heard nothing back yet. According to the tracking info, it is about 1 1/2 hours away and it will be so frustrating if it doesn't come tomorrow.

The only thing UPS delivers on Saturdays are "next day air" packages. Sometimes around Christmas or things like that they will make regular deliveries.

Thank you! I googled Saturday pickups and it was not particularly clear whether or not they did. Now I am really annoyed with Walmart...I could have paid half as much and had it delivered on the same day. Grrrr!

When I order things online I try to figure out where they are shipping from. Dh and I have figured out that when we order gifts from KB toys for our niece and nephews in TN they almost always get them in 1-2 days after they ship because they are close to the warehouse. So no paying for next day stuff for that!

See, I wasn't sure since it was Walmart and I am sure that they have warehouses all over the place so I just did it to be on the safe side. I start my Bachelor's program on Monday and wanted to be able to mess with it over the weekend and get used to it.

With that, I'm sure they consider the next day to be from the day it got picked up. I dunno if you'll get it tomorrow. It may be on it's way to your local distribution center.

I hope...my package is in New Stanton, Pa right now, about an 1 1/2 hour away and I just want to drive up and get it now. I am not the most patient person!

Check the tracking info in the am, like after 8 or 8:30. the shift here for the people that download the feeder trucks is typically 4 am to 9:30 I think. (or it was last year) But then next day air packages get picked up at airports. Oh I don't know for sure what to say. If it's not coming next day air specifically, it'll be on a truck and those wont be downloaded till Monday morning. When you chose your shipping option, did it differentiate between next day and next day air?

i think it just said next day. I didn't even think it would matter....to me, next day is next day. Silly me I guess!

Looks like from this that One day shipping means 1 business day. And Saturday isn't considered one yet.

Thank you so much for your help! I must be getting tired if I couldn't find this stuff on my own I really don't think that I will order through them again after all of this. It wouldn't have irritated me so much if it hadn't given me a projected delivery date of August 17 through Monday, August 20. I just figured that I would get it when I wanted it! Now I feel like a spoiled brat for saying that! After reading this post, you'd never guess I was almost 30!

Hey I'd be wanting a cool toy like that ASAP too!

Don't feel so bad, I am so impatient when I want something I have been accused of expecting people to read my mind and have it to me before I even asked for it.

And in my opinion since I have to work weekends, and so do millions of other people world-wide they should be consider business days as well

Congrats on the new laptop

I just called UPS trying to get them to tell me I could just pick it up from the distribution center. Well, that didn't work! They told me it was closed today. Can you believe that?!! So, now I definately have to wait until Monday. Grrr! I did, however, write a review of Walmart.com that made me feel a little better.
