I wasn't sure which forum to post this but I saw this article in the paper today and thought it might be of interest. It is regarding a possible link between hyperthyroidism in cats and chemicals found in flame retardants. They say that indoor cats that eat fish-flavored canned food were found to be most suspectible.

If that's true, that's too bad. Beauty is the only wet food cat at our house (because we believe she's having issues eating the dry food due to arthritis). Yet I can only get her to eat Tuna or Salmon on her own. She'll wait a long time before taking nibbles of chicken or turkey.

However she was already diagnosed with Hyper Thyroid when we started her wet food diet.
