HIV positive child can't swim...

His foster parents have been asked for him to not use the pool for fear of spreading the virus to others.

I can't believe that this myth still is out there.

I know.... it breaks my heart that people still think this way. They are the same people who think you can get an STD from a toilet seat.

I'm half tempted to invite this child to swim in my father's pool. It's indoor and heated. He'd have a much better time.

For goodness sake, is this for real!!!

Are people really that bigoted and stupid?

Unbelievable - That poor child is having to suffer enough already with being HIV positive, and now they can't even enjoy a swim in the pool without being discriminated against

Oh yes... it's real. I'm still kind of in denial about it. I thought we were over this.

I thought most countries were over it, but apparently not

You just want to find that child and give him a big hug to say the world really isn't that bad

Here's praying to the fact that one day people will wake up to themselves

Oh.my.god.

I can't believe this. The poor child! He probably has no idea why he isn't allowed to swim in the pool and he is getting ostracised already! The poor darling.

So many people still need an education. Another HIV positive may have swum in that pool without the park owners/managers knowing.

This makes me so mad.

That is a really good point!!!

Poor kid.

That is ridiculous, that poor little guy

Pathetic and Lame. That RV Park will be lucky if they don't get sued.

This is ridiculous that they would stop this child from swimming in the pool. Can you imagine this poor kid being told that he can't swim when all of the other kids are in the pool?!! How heartbreaking for him. These people need to do a little research next time they decide to ban someone from the pool...HIV or not.

Um..my question is, how did they know he's positive? Did someone tell the park he was?

I think this is sad and pathetic!
I'd assume its a small town and most people obviously know he's HIV positive

I wish I could type what I really want to, but it has a lot of four letter words in it and this is a family website.

How can people still be so ignorant when it comes to HIV?

My heart just aches for that poor little guy.

Ok I can kind of see the concern. But the possibility of someone contraction HIV from this child in a swimming pool.... that's just crazy.

Speechless...

It was only a couple decades ago where nearly everyone was this ridiculous about HIV, Reagan included.

That poor child.
