In one of my previous posts I asked about Samba peeing on the ground. We know that before it had been because of a UTI, that was a year ago. But now we think he has started spraying. He now pees on shoes, suitcases, and clothes and we are pretty sure its spraying. So I have a few questions:

1 How do I know for sure if he is spraying? ( He does not have a UTI now, he was just checked about 2 weeks ago)

2 If he is spraying, how do we stop it?

3 Whats the best cleaner to get rid of the smell? We can get it out of clothes and the shoes, but we can't get it out of the suitcases. We have tried Febreze, Pine-sol, and Odor Patrol and nothing got rid of the smell.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

We have a female cat who sprays my husband's suitcase too and we could not get the smell out of it.

The best cleaners are the enzymatic ones designed for removing cat and dog pee such as Simple Solution, Nature's Miracle and so on.

It does sound like your cat is spraying and the question you have to answer is why. I am guessing he associates the shoes and suitcases with your leaving the house and he wants you to know he doesn't like that. On the clothes, is it a pile of clothes for the drycleaner? (I'm just asking because our little spraying girl happens to like spraying those too, my husband's work shirts specifically LOL).

What we have done is remove our cat's access to those items entirely. Other places she has sprayed are territories she regards as hers, i.e. the bottom of curtains in certain parts of the house. We cleaned those really good with the enzymatic cleaner and pt aluminum foil down in those areas so she would not return- and it worked.

On the clothes, is it a pile of clothes for the drycleaner? No, he pees on ANY No matter what kind or where. We just don't know how to stop him entirely. We can't keep him away from all of our shoes all the time and we don't want to have to keep him locked up constantly.

Thanks for the advice.

Anyone know any products that would get him to stop peeing in the places that he is peeing?

We still can't make Samba stop. We've tried keeping things off the floors, but then he climbs on to dressers and goes on there. How do we make him stop. I don't know how much longer my husbands going to put up with this(or how long i will be able to stand it.) Please help, I don't want to have to get rid of him.
