Those people have to be mentally ill. A $2.5 million house on a half a million dollar lot and they just let the animals run loose in there. Not even enough sense to bury them. You have to wonder what in the heck happened. I would guess that they were bringing in strays to care for them or something and then things just got out of hand? They lost thier mind? What happened?

Wierd.

Um is it just me or was there nothing written about the owners? Where are they?

That is so disappointing.

I can't help but wonder if this was an intentional thing since the house is undergoing foreclosure. That may have made sense if some of the remains weren't a year old. Its just a theory. No excuse anyway.

Tht's what I was wondering....were the owners no longer there and is that why it got so bad? It's horrible that they did this to these animals!

yeah, I didn't see a mention of where the owners were or what had happened to them either... one assumes they have to be alive given there was a package delivered.

What do they mean "The authorities are considering pressing charges"... I think consider should be a definite. That is disturbing, sad, and sick. How did it even get to this point?

We will never know the 'truth'....

I can't even speak after reading that.. It's horrible,, untolerable , and horrible!!!

I can't believe that some of the carcasses were over a year old. WTH is wrong with these people? How could they do that to these animals? If your pet crosses the bridge you don't just wrap it up in a plastic bag and throw it in the garage, you give it a proper burial. And how could they only be considering animal cruelty? If it were up to me I'd lock them up for a long time.

I think it is clear that one or both of the people who live there are mentally ill. There will probably be more revealed about them in the coming days. We'll find out that they kept to themselves, didn't have any really close friends, seemed normal on the outside, etc.

I agree.

This entire situation is wrong...but people getting outraged about it before knowing the facts is a bit much.

Clearly to build a 2.5 million dollar home and then allow this to happen, indicates mental illness. I used to work with the mentally ill and this sounds almost textbook...putting the bodies in bags in the garage. Whoever did this probably thought they loved their pets. I'd be really interested to see what is uncovered in the coming days.

What if with people?! They had enough money to buy the mansion but couldn't turn on the AC at least? Why do people get so many animals if they can't take care of them!

Welll I think this says it all.

I would venture to say this is a hoarding situation if they were still living at this property.

I think the wierdest thing about this story is that these people were millionares. How could they let it get this bad? And they were keeping 23 dead animals in the garage? How creepy. These people need help.

I went to an animal hoarding seminar, and I learned that 80% of all animal hoarders are higher leveled college educated people. Weird but true.
