Vibes needed for surviving puppies..

Let me give you a little background. My parents have been in love with Airedale terriers for years now and owned several as pets. A few years ago they decided to try their hand at breeding, to see if it was something they wanted to get serious about. Some may consider them to be byb but they really weren't in it for money and weren't cranking out litter after litter to sell. It was more of a hobby that they were trying to see if they were cut out to do it full time. (Spare me any lectures please. I know better, but they don't and they are too old to spank)

After 2 beautiful litters of puppies (in 3 years), most of which were placed in homes of friends and family, not sold, they had to stop because of my stepdad's health problems. Their female Angel, they decided to go ahead and spay, since if they were ever able to go back to it, it would likely be several years. While waiting for her appt, she went into heat and the male somehow managed to climb over a 5 1/2 foot fence to get to her! (The female and one of her pups they kept, live outdoors in a 3 acre fenced area, with lots of trees, a pond, and heated doghouse).

They decided to go ahead and let her have the puppies. Her previous litters were large (8 and 11) but they thought this one would be smaller, because she wasn't as large. She went into labor a week early and had 15 puppies. 2 were stillborn, and 7 more died the first night. They have 6 puppies remaining which are being hand fed because Angel is having problems with bleeding and will be spayed immediately. Of the remaining 6, 4 are fat and healthy, and 2 are runts, but doing well.

Angel and her 6 puppies could use some of those TCS vibes. If they survive, 2 will be kept as pets, and the rest placed with family.

poor Angel and the pups. 15 had to really wear her out! I will pray that her and her puppies will be okay when they are fixed. please keep us updated and make sure they keep a close eye on Angel until she's spayed because she could get pregnant again and that would not be good at all.

Get well soon and hope things go ok with no complications....15 pups! I'd about die

Dogs don't come into heat that fast, so its not like she will get pregnant before being spayed this time.

The remaining 6 puppies are still doing ok. There are 4 girls and 2 boys. Right now, mama and pups are all staying in the house, with access only to a tiny fenced area outside. I'm hoping they can send me some pictures soon!

I hope the puppies are doing better, and Mum too, of course. Lots of extra special vibes from me.

How heartbreaking to have puppies die on them and their Angel to have problems due to the pregnancy
Hoping mama and babies recover and not only live but thrive. Poor babies.

3 litters by one female, how old is she?
They placed/will place 25 puppies friends and family for free (excluding two they are keeping)? Wow.
Are they going to spay those that they keep as pets, just curious since you brought that up that they were going to spay their female. I can't imagine another litter(s) in the double digits and then having to place them with friends and family for free too...

The six puppies are doing well, but still have to be bottle-fed. Angel is still recovering and isn't really producing milk. It turns out that she still had a (dead) puppy inside her and got infected which required emergency surgery.

To answer a couple questions.. I think Angel is about 5 years old. The puppies they sell are not neutered because they are sold with breeding rights.

I think they plan to keep one male. I do not know if they will do any breeding in the future. They quit because of my stepdad's health (he had cancer surgery) but may plan to do it again in the future because they really do love the breed.

Just wanted to update everyone that Angel and the six puppies are all doing well. The puppies are getting big and are fat and healthy The little male that they are keeping has already started going for rides in the truck with my stepdad around the farm and follows him everywhere in the yard. I believe homes have already been lined up for the other five.

My mom doesn't have a digital camera so I'm trying to persuade my brother to go over there and take some pics so I can share them with you all
