I think it's such a negative sounding username! hee hee just kidding. I actually like it, regardless of what it may mean to you. I think it just sort of rolls off the tongue really well. When I first saw it, it made me think of the south.....

I like it!!!! It definitely didn't give me any negative vibes at all - I was certainly curious about the name and knew there'd be an interesting story behind it.

It's definitely more memorable than a lot of other usernames on here. Not that I see ANYONE'S username as "bad", look how plain mine is!! But I get confused about who's who sometimes if there's a bunch of similar people.

In my own world, its much nicer there
I love it, its very creative and you avatar of Kodaju gives it real edge.

P.S the U is dropped off in the subtitle for some reason. Japanese is always vowel-syllable or syllable- vowel.

When I first noticed you, I checked your location to find out what swamp you were living in.

Canada? Must be a chilly one!

Then I noticed that your avatar was always changing, yet always remaining the same -- understated grey images of a very serious-looking woman in a bleak and isolated place that bore no resemblance whatsoever to a swamp. Hmmmm.

I soon realized that your taglines changed, as well -- usually vivid yet impenetrable phrases. I suspected that if I were to save them all, they would read in sequence as poetry, but I never got around to starting that project.

I wondered whether the "witch" part was meant to be taken literally, and if so, whether you were (in the immortal words of Billie Burke) "a Good Witch or a Bad Witch." I thought that over a bit and reasoned, Since she lives in the West, she must be a Wicked Witch.

No, I didn't! Nonono.
No, I just figured, "With a name like SwampWitch, she has to be good."

Anyway, now that I know you, I can see that you're very different from the initial impression I got from your username! And I've always been curious about its origin... any chance you'll tell?

I was noticing all the same sort of things, except I envisioned the pictures zooming out to a foggy swampy sort of area, still in black and white. I like the name it's intriguing. It definitely sparks my imagination, especially combined with your ever-changing avitars.

Perhaps your name would repel the same crowd who would shun Harry Potter cause it supposedly promotes witchcraft...

I just thought it was creative.
It never occurred to me that someone would take it negatively...however, I can be naive.

If someone is immediately repelled by it then you probably don't want to be talking to that person anyway!

I really didn't have any opinion when I first saw it. It just reminded me of my best friend in high school. She was into the fantasy type stuff and that is the image I had of SwampWitch.

I do see where it can cause a stronger reaction than something like "HelloKitty". But then you are a strong person and "HelloKitty" just wouldn't do you justice.

I happen to think it's great - and I love why you chose it. (You told me at one point.)

I think that the most important thing, though, is how YOU feel about it.

I totally agree with those that said it is a memorable and original name, although I will admit I thought you lived in the Everglades or something

My very first thought was that you were a Wicca. Which isn't an issue for me, afterall my mother-in-law is a Wicca. Yep, my mother-in-law is a witch! I always laugh at that joke! My husband never laughes at my jokes, especially when they involve his mother!

It's a perfectly fine name. If it stops representing who you are, then stop using it. Otherwise, as many others have said "be who you are"

I have chosen a name that commemorates my cat's soft squishy tummy, I hope no one holds that against me, but I get a warm fuzzy when I think about her belly

I didn't think anything positive or negative about it. I did wonder if you lived in a swamp though.

I don't usually think too much about user names on boards. It would have to be pretty offensive for me to be bothered by it.

My entire family is pagan, so I just assumed you were Wiccan. I'd have felt a bit silly if that had turned out to be wrong!

I think the 'Swamp' part of it must have eclipsed (in my mind at least!) the information that you were in Canada though, I was imagining you somewhere a bit more southerly!
