I've got a 2 month old kitten and I leave dry food out at all times and then give him canned 3 times a day (morning after he wakes up, afternoon while we're eating lunch, and evening while we're eating dinner). He does good on that schedule.

I was feeding him the canned 2 times a day for the first 2 days and noticed his little tummy just could not eat a 1/4 can in one sitting and with the 3 times he can finish his meal easily.

they are on purina one for kittens, I have been feeding them 3 times a day, I'd like to leave the food out for them all day long to eat when they want, but I have a dog and she will eat the cats food and it's not good for dogs, so for those who have cats and dogs, what do you do about feeding?

I have dogs too and I have her food in the computer room and I am training the dogs not to go into the room. Although just today my one dog went in and scarfed down the canned in kibble in like 2 bites. Maybe put it on a table or counter that the kitties can reach or have it in a room the dogs have been trained not to go into?
