Just more an inquiry of interest more then anything.
We got Murphy and Winston from a rescue, and when we got Murphy his coat was a solid gray and white and quite short.
The last week or so I have noticed tiger like stripes (I presume from reading other posts on here, it is tabby markings?) appearing on his arms, the sides of his belly, traveling up towards his back and tail.
When I look closely at his individual "gray" hairs they are not a solid colour, they are speckled gray and white.
With both of them they were listed as DSH also but compared to my Aunties cat who I would call short, Theirs look a lot longer and seem to be getting longer each day! More so on the belly area.
Murphy even is getting that "Old man long inside ear hair"!
It's kinda cute.
So I was just wondering if this is the norm with cats ~ They are born solid colours and after a few months other colours and patterns can come out?
Here's a pic of his new tiger stripes.
