I have 2 kittens a brother and sister 22 months old, Sid and Nancy . Nancy is giving off a smell around the neck area , and Sid is biting the back of her neck and looks like he is trying to mount her , and will not leave Nancy alone, I have booked them to both be spayed, but i am worried that i can not keep an eye on them whilst at work, before the op is carried out.
This is only happening occasionaly and she does not smell all the time, but i am really worried and destressed by this behaviour!!!
Will my kitten get pregnant?
Is this just kitten behaviour?
Should i repremand him?
Hopefully someone can shed some light on this for me.

Hi,

It is highly likely that your kitty will get pregnant. They will be able to tell you when they are doing the spay. I would go ahead with your plans to get her spayed, because inbreeding is not a good thing for the kittens. Her litter with her brother could be full of all sorts of genetic disorders. The vet will likely charge you a little bit more during the spay, if she has been taken.

You female is indeed in heat, and It's VERY possible that she will become pregnant. You can't repremand them for doing something they are supposed to do. What you should do, is put them in seperate rooms until she is spayed and he is neutered.
