Hi Newbie here
, I really need some help and was hoping you guys could offer some of your expertise and advice...

This is concerning my Mum and Dad, they already have a male (neutered) 8 year old House cat ( He doesn't go outside and was given to them by a relative who lived in a flat when he was 2)

Recently they have been feeding a Male stray cat (age 1 year-ish) and have grown very attached to him and he to them (he is so loveable - I can't believe anyone would have kicked him out). They were looking to taking him to a catery for re-homing but they would really like to keep him but are very concerned about the cats getting on with each other

Would it be possible to house a outside cat with a indoor cat especially as they are both males? Or is this not advised? They plan to get the stray cat neutered if they home him.

Any suggestions are helpful as they are trying to find what to do for the best.

Thank you

It can certainly work...however your parents need to have him checked out by a vet first and neutered. Then you need to SLOWLY introduce them. The newcomer should be in a room where he cannot see your parents 8 year old cat. Let them smell each other through the door and see what the initial reaction is. Growling and hissing is normal in the early stages.
