Abby also has a nice little bare spot near her tail right now. It seems like it acts up more in the summer.

Have you ruled out allergies?
Yep. I've ruled out almost everything there is to rule out.

I just love him so much.

It could be that the A/C noises bug him. Does it have a fan that goes on and off...mine used to do that and it would make a nice loud thunk when it cut back in. A fan might be a good idea...if you could find a white noise that didn't bother him, that would definitely drown out alot of the other unexpected noises (i.e. someone banging on your door, honking horns etc).

Are you still bathing him, and doing everything else with the same routine?

Another thought-Does he seem to be a nervous kitty?

Ophelia is on Buspar, which is an anti-anxiety medication. I wouldn't rule out meds completely.

We are on the same routine, so it seems like everything is okay.

He is a nervous boy. He'll also cry a lot if we aren't paying attention to him. I think I need to set aside some Dr. D Claw time just for him.

I can really understand what you're going through. It's *so* hard when our cats do this sort of thing to ourselves and we don't know why or how to make it better.

Nikita's overgrooming is healing now, she's never pulled fur out, only gone after one small spot on her inner arm which then gets raw and infected very easily but it hurts so much to have this happen. I cried when I spotted her doing it the last time it happened.

A cortisone cream to cut down on the itching helped her, that's easy though because it's just the one spot that got red and irritated so part of why she kept worrying at it was because it was itching because the skin was broken.

I've only gone through this twice and in both cases she stopped the overgrooming in under a week once I got more strict with her diet, refilled the feliway diffuser, got the cortisone cream and played with her even more.

It is really really hard because we care so much for our cats.

Knee deep in cat litter
Has he been checked for diabetes? I ask cause my cat , Tosh, was doing that and we found out he was diabetic. The diabetes was causing his skin to feel dry so he was pulling his fur out. Also, I know that allergies can also cause cats to do this. Sorry if I am making suggestions that you already have checked out. Hope you can figure out what is wrong and help him. Poor guy

We just had him checked for that at the last vet visit. He's OCD.

Last night I came home and just cuddled and cuddled and cuddled with him. I swear that he can smile.

I didn't find any fur tufts today.

Maybe he was just feeling neglected. I hope he turns around soon. He is such a sweet little guy.
