Repairing a Cat Tree

Thread Starter
I have a cat tree that is about 6 years old. It has worn well and is still very sturdy. It is about 54" tall. Problem is the carpet is showing a lot of wear. I usually have the worn part facing a wall but I would love to fix it.

I think I would need carpet remnants and a staple gun? Or some type of tacks? What would be the safest, most secure way to fix this?

Here are some photos of the damage:

I got some carpet remnants & used a stapler thingy to staple the carpet on. It could be tricky to do the round bed, though....depends on the type of carpet. I made sure I was stapling where the cats wouldn't be & where people wouldn't see.

Carpet remnants and a staple gun would work, but if you don't have a good staple gun, the staples will not get embedded as deeply as you would like. Keep a hammer handy and pound in the staples that are in any way loose. The last thing you want to do is have a staple come loose and get stuck in their paws.

I've used gorilla glue and I wouldn't recommend it for this job. It is incredibly strong, but if you ever had to replace the carpet a second time, good look in getting it off. It's almost like super glue.
