Well, I've had the boys on a wet diet for a week and they seem to be loving it. I had to go out of town for the evening on Saturday, so I put 3 cups of food in their bowls hoping they wouldn't run out. When I got back the next morning, they had barely eaten half of it! They seemed not to want it. I guess I put too much in there, and either they didn't like the mixed flavors or it wasn't fresh anymore. So I decided that when I am gone overnight (like when I spend the night with my boyfriend on the weekends) I should probably put some dry food out for them. Anyone have any recommendations? The Meow Mix wet has low carbs, so I'd like to keep it that way if possible.

I use Evo and my little guy LOVES it! He will eat the canned like no tomorrow and he literally dove into his dry! It's kind of pricey, atleast by me, I spend like $1.25/per can and they suggest 1 can per 6-8 lbs of adult cat. It's really good though so I think it's worth it.

Getting some dry food for when you are away is a good idea. You don't want to leave wet food out for more than they will eat in 1 sitting because it will spoil. Evo, serengeti, raw instinct, and core are all lower in carbs than traditional dry foods.

Orijen is the only low carb food mine will eat. But like Sharkey said, it's $$$ when you have to ship.

I just bought the large bag of Orijen last night (15.4 lbs.) for $37.99 which works out to $2.47 per lb. I don't know if that is pricey compared to less quality foods but I do know our cats eat quite a bit less of the Orijen and seem to be quite contented with the amount.

Here I consider about 2 $ a lb ave for "premium food .. so 2.47 is not bad at all...
