Yesterday my husband and I went to the Zoo with some friends. We had a ton of fun, but there was a few moments that I wish I could get back. Like when the Yellow Jacket flew in my mouth chasing after the honey mustard sauce I had put on my "romantic" picnic lunch. That caused a bit of a ruckus.

However, we were able to go and see a beautiful butterfly exhibit. As I walked into the green house I realized that magic did exist on earth. Because this little guy landed on my shoulder and chilled out for a moment. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Morpho_rhetenor.jpg

I've never felt so honored.

Also, I got to see the baby Red Panda. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:A...esserPanda.jpg
If the zoo wouldn't have noticed his absence I would have taken him home with me.

No, I didn't pet the rays because the line was too long. I did see the baby orangutan and he was amazing! He was climbing the ropes in the enclosure, and annoying his Momma the whole time. I think she wanted to take a nap.

Also, the smell of the corpse flower was still in the air. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:3...n-arum1web.jpg

It blooms once every 13 years and smells like rotting meat. Let me tell you I'm glad the care of that wonderful plant is under a botanist, and not me. I don't think I could have that in my garden.
